Michelle Ye Issues Apology Letter to Boyfriend’s Ex
Last year, it was revealed Michelle Ye (葉璇) lost a defamation lawsuit against her boyfriend Mr. Xiao Mo‘s (小默先生) former girlfriend Ms. Lu. When the actress failed to fulfill her obligations of apologizing and offering compensation to Mr. Xiao Mo’s ex, she was restricted luxury expenditure, including going on vacations. The 39-year-old star finally submitted an apology letter on March 5th and paid a fine of RMB 80,000 after she was intercepted at the airport while on her way from Beijing to Seoul on January 24th.
The whole fiasco started about half a year ago when Ms. Lu published an article on the Internet implying that Mr. Xiao Mo was a two-timer, prompting Michelle to sue her for defamation. However, the Shanghai Xuhui Court ruled in Ms. Lu’s favor and ordered Michelle to immediately stop attacking Ms. Lu online, as well as issue a written apology and offer compensation within 10 days. When she failed to oblige, the other party applied for a restraining order against Michelle.
The situation was seemingly resolved when Ms. Lu posted on Weibo an apology letter signed by Michelle. The letter read, “At the time I wasn’t thinking straight” and “I am especially regretful.” Michelle promised to face her mistake and shoulder the relevant legal responsibilities. The apology was full of sincerity but sharp-eyed netizens discovered the letter was plagiarized. There were many similarities between Michelle’s apology and one written by a hater, Mr. Yang, who had smeared celebrity Lay Zhang (張藝興) on Weibo in January of this year. Mr. Yang was sued and ordered to write a handwritten apology letter. Netizens thought there were many similar sentences between both letters and criticized Michelle for having no sincerity. Some even questioned, “If she was not enforced by the court, would she have apologized?”
Despite the speculations, Michelle did not seem to be bogged down by them. On March 6th, she reposted a Weibo post published by Xiao Mo in January and wrote, “I am proud of you, handsome!” Her actions dispelled the break up rumors that have been circulating since last year.

I don’t get what the defamation suit is about. Did Michelle sue her saying that she defamed her BF’s character? And that it isn’t true? And she lost…because it turns out it WAS true?
Michelle is just turning into this one big mess these days.
@coralie pretty much what you said lol. I think by saying he’s top timer, it might implied she’s the third woman/stupid to date a two timer and think he’s a keeper.
I never like her to start with, and years later, it shows her characters are pretty bad
@littlefish It’s a shame, really. I loved her for that one series she was in (Eternal Happiness), but she hasn’t been able to prove herself since then. i always thought she was blunt, straightforward & frank, which is fine. But nowadays she seem…obnoxious.
@coralie
I think that’s exactly what’s happened. Michelle is the wealthy celebrity but she’s behaving like her boyfriend is a mega superstar and she is the lovesick fan. I suggest we all not post a single negative comment about her boyfriend otherwise we will receive a letter from her solicitor. Once again I’m surprised Michelle hasn’t mentioned the diamond ring she received from her boyfriend who spent all his savings to buy it for her….
Getting crazier and crazier w/this ex TVB actress.
Surprised Michelle hasn’t mentioned the big diamond ring her boyfriend bought for her because she barely ever mentions it….
