Miss Hong Kong 2019 will take place on September 8. Two rounds of interviews have been held and the list of applicants has been narrowed down from over 100 to the final 15. After being styled with new looks and hairstyles, a press conference was held and the final 15 were officially introduced to the public.
The contestants will receive training from TVB and will soon head to Macau and Kyushu, Japan for promotional filming. Miss Hong Kong has long had the tradition of heading to exotic overseas destinations for filming. However, last year’s contestants seemed to have gotten the short end of the stick as they were only able to go to Macau and Sai Kung.
There were a few contestants that caught the eye of the press. One was Blossom Chan (陳熙蕊) who currently works as a beauty consultant. She is 5-feet-3-inches tall and weights 88.8 lbs making her the lightest contestant. She said that TVB and her friends have encouraged her to add on a bit of weight.
In comparison, there was 19-year-old Fefe Tse (謝采芝) who is 5-feet-7-inches tall and weighs 136.7 lbs making her the heaviest contestant. Katy Yeung (楊詠彤) was the tallest contestant standing at nearly 5-feet-9-inches tall.
Kayan Choi (蔡嘉欣) also received a lot of media attention as she is a model and works as a ViuTV host.
