“Modern Dynasty 2” Cast Celebrates Success
The cast surprises Charmaine Sheh with a birthday cake, celebrating her recent birthday.
Since airing, Modern Dynasty 2: The Heir to the Throne <家族榮耀之繼承者> has seen great success in China, becoming the top most-searched Hong Kong drama on Chinese platforms. The cast and crew attended an event to celebrate the good ratings.
The ulterior motives of each character and the family power struggles ignited netizens’ discussions. Charmaine Sheh ( 佘詩曼), Raymond Lam (林峯), and Raymond Wong‘s (黃浩) characters are caught in a love triangle in the drama and a recent episode showed Charmaine having to go to jail even though she was innocent.
Charmaine joked that although she had to go to jail, she was still lucky with two handsome men protecting her. Raymond Wong joked his wife has been watching the drama and would choose him over Raymond Lam. However, Raymond Lam also quipped that his wife Carina Zhang (张馨月) would choose him instead.
Raymond Wong gave a few spoilers stating that the moment Charmaine leaves jail, she comes to him to borrow money. He said, “I’ll soon have scenes with Charmaine that are not related to money. My character will give an emotional love confession that’s really good.” Raymond disclosed his character will also face grave danger, “It’s quite sad–he’ll experience an event that will also involve Charmaine’s family.”
Him Law (羅子溢) shared his character will only become more villainous, “Several people will meet their fates in my hands soon, but my character gets what he deserves as his actions harm himself as well. The audience will feel really good after they watch the ending.”
Sharing passionate scenes with many women in the drama, Him joked he would run away whenever his wife Tavia Yeung (楊茜堯) watched the drama. “I was helping the kids shower at that time. I’ve actually shown Tavia some clips and she was surprised after watching.” When Toby Leung (梁靖琪) asked if he was still able to go home, Him he joked his knees were all bloody from kneeling on glass.
