Moses Chan to Film in China and Save for Marriage Fund
Moses Chan (陳豪) will be venturing into the mainland market, after 13 years of comfortably leading TVB dramas. Moses will join the ranks of colleagues such as Raymond Lam (林峯), Ron Ng (吳卓羲) and Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) by going to mainland China, to earn more money and save towards his wedding funds.
Moses Chan and Tavia Yeung (楊怡) were the latest crop of TVB artists who wish to strengthen their earnings by filming in China. As a bargaining chip to have Moses renew his management contract for several more years, TVB will air Will Power <傳愛事務所> as this year’s Anniversary series. TVB also set up filming opportunities for Moses in China. TVB executive, Virginia Lok (樂易玲) said, “He has already filmed so many [TVB] series, so he hopes to film in mainland dramas and movies. TVB is currently negotiating modern and historical dramas in mainland for him.”
Focused on Hong Kong Sponsors
For the longest time, Moses resisted the temptation to cross the border to China to film dramas. He was enjoying a handsome remuneration of $10 million HKD from endorsement deals and stage performances. Currently with more time at hand, Moses hopes to venture up north. However, Moses said that he would still continue working in Hong Kong if the suitable projects crop up.
The last time Moses won the TV King title was in 2007 for Heart of Greed <溏心風暴>. Despite subsequent nominations, Moses did not win the award again. “Any actor will wish for a good script, good coworkers and a good role. These factors affect the chances of winning awards. As an actor, I just have to concentrate on doing my part and wait for my opportunity.”
In the meantime, Moses will continue to enjoy his work and the perks that come with it. Moses added humbly, “I also don’t know why I am labeled as a diamond bachelor. Growing up, I was ordinary-looking and no one gave me second looks. But I’ll just enjoy this bonus while it lasts.”
Hard Partying and Conceited Days
Moses’ current attitude is a maturation of what he experienced earlier in his life. He revealed he was an intensive heavy smoker in his teens. “I was smoking the Camel brand. I smoked one cigarette after another. After smoking for one to two years, I quit. At least I experienced it. I don’t drink a lot of alcohol, but I do like to sample different kinds of wine.”
When he was a model, Moses partied really hard, often to the extent of unconsciousness. His partying days also caused him to lose focus on his work and almost cost him his career. Moses admitted that early fame had gone to his head, causing him to be conceited and disdainful towards others. However, through age and experience, he realized the volatility of the industry and the importance of good relations with his peers. Fortunately, he had good friends around to remind him of his priorities.
“One day, it was as if a light shined on me and I woke up. I told myself, ‘I don’t belong here,’ and that’s when I stopped partying,” Moses said.
Planning for Marriage
After working together in Master of Play <心戰> in 2010, Moses fell in love with 32-year-old Aimee Chan (陳茵媺) and they started dating in early 2011. The couple often enjoys romantic getaways as well as pampering sessions together. Moses said, “Romance needs to be created. I like to surprise her with flowers or bring her out for a good meal, just as a boyfriend should.” Despite rumors that both of them are cohabiting, Moses denied it. But Moses admitted that they often visit each other, taking turns to cook meals for the other.
After they started dating, the only drama they filmed together was The Last Steep Ascent <天梯>. Fortunately, they were not involved in a romantic relationship onscreen. Moses felt that Aimee has managed to create her own acting style and flair over the years and did not give her acting pointers. “Each artist has her or her own perpsective Aimee’s potential is very high, and she has continued to improve each time. This is the best time to prove to others her acting style, and not our time to teach her.”
Moses hopes to focus on his career before thinking about marriage. As to whether they have a joint savings account together, Moses said, “Not yet. We’ll continue to let the relationship grow healthily. Of course, I will think about marriage.”

IMPROVEMENT is a big word for Amiee who just suck at acting.
Some are just born with an innate skill to act so you can see their potential early on, but with some they can act for years and years and still suck… Also, acting is subjective so some may love a particular actor/actress while others will hate them. I think Amiee is ok but isn’t so great. However, she is not the worse that I have seen either…
She is in TVB for many years. Where is the improvement other then hookup with Moses.
I personally agree with HeTieShou and P.Tan. But I feel like she’s only starting to promote or be in leading roles due to her relationship with Moses.
But for me, regardless of winning a Best Actor award, Moses cannot act either. Sorry to all those who support Moses.
She is already 32! It seems like most of her modern roles have her typecast as a young cute free spirited girl in her mid 20’s . It seems like her acting ( facial expressions, gestures, acting cute-sy) have been pretty much the same, predictable. Sorry, her accent is very distracting too! Agreed with Larry, retired now and just go live in that big house as Mrs Chan. Give the real actresses that have been acting longer and more deserving the lead role.

Jaynestars wouldnt be a closed shop if there were less negative comments. But id say about a 1/3 of the earnings would be cut.
Ive been on jaynestars since even before the revamp. There were many visitors and they were actually friendly.

I don’t know why you had to say that to Funn and I can see that you have been onto her from the applelim comment.
1) If you have been reading Funn’s writing, you would be able to tell that she has her own distinct flair of writing. She reflects some of her beliefs and value system in her writing and it shows that she has integrity and is a righteous person, you can read the Michelle Yeo threads for evidence.
2)Funn’s comments are intelligent and insightful, I’m not sure where you read that her comments were stupid and ridiculous.

Who said that weddings HAVE to be expensive?? It can be cheap if you want it to be but sadly most what this and that, so of course it will get expensive. Also, like with an engagement ring, who said that it had to be $10,000+??? It is what you want it to be. It can be even less then a few hundred dollars if you want it to be. It just depends on what you want.

I don’t understand how Aimee chose Moses over Edwin. Moses sucks at acting and is not attractive. Edwin is good looking seems funny and is good at acting. He just needs more time to develop his career, by the time he gets to moses age he would be way popular. Moses is a nice guy too, but Edwin is the clear choice for any young women. She stupid.

Yup I am sure if Raymond Lam was interested in her, she would have gone for him instead. She is not dumb. She will go for the one where the rewards are the greatest. Hooking up with Moses increased her “popularity” and got her more gigs. Before Moses, she did’nt really received much publicity.

People change their minds and their plans change, so I don’t see what the big deal is. Ekin and Yoyo kept on saying that they were firm on not getting married or having kis. BUt now, they are married and are glad that they are and also hope to have kids. Therefore, I don’t see what the big deal is if Moses does film in China or whatever.
