Moses on His Family’s Medical Background

Recently, China’s Ministry of Commerce signed a revised agreement allowing Hong Kong dramas to be broadcast on mainland television stations during prime time. To promote upcoming dramas, TVB scheduled for several leading artistes to attend the TVB 2025 Promotion Conference in Guangzhou. Moses Chan (陳豪), Ruco Chan (陳展鵬), Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), Katy Kung (龔嘉欣), Elaine Yiu (姚子羚), Yoyo Chen (陳自瑤), Joel Chan (陳山聰), and Moon Lau (劉佩玥) were in attendance.

In addition to promoting new dramas, artistes also shared about their filming experiences. Wayne and Katy shared snippets of their experiences while filming Hong Kong Exploration Map <香港探秘地圖>. Katy expressed, “I remember one time, the production crew told me they would arrive at the filming location in 15 minutes. I was driving myself to the location, but no one was on site when I got there! They told me they were still 30 minutes away. I sat there all by myself staring at the cemetery, so I decided to take a nap in the car instead.” Wayne teased, “Did you feel any oddities? In addition to the cemetery, we also had to shoot at a school and an abandoned place. It made for a memorable experience, especially since we only went to film at night.”

Moses revealed he will begin filming a new drama next year, which will center around traditional Chinese medicine. He shared, “Actually, my father was an anesthesiologist. My mother was also a traditional Chinese medicine physician, so I am no stranger to the medical field. I had interned at a traditional Chinese medicine clinic for a period of time before.” To prepare for the drama, Moses vowed to “brush up on acupuncture skills again.”

    1. Once again goes to prove 99% of people in the industry either come from money or connections or have never suffered in their lives. The real 1% that has suffered, struggled, and hustled growing up especially ages 0-18, and have real talent and work really hard are the ones who become superstars like Chow Yun Fat. Moses is good but cannot compare to Chow Yun Fat

      1. Mm yes, acting is inherently a risky business and most won’t venture into this industry unless there’s some safety net in place, like rich family or family connections. Those who did it without significant wealth only aspire for A job – any job that can potentially pay the bills, e.g. Chow Yun Fat and Stephen Chow.

But there are some that are talented and work hard even if they have family money, e.g. Moses, Raymond Lam, Mark Chao (esp Mark Chao), Esther Yu, etc.
