Myolie Wu: “I’m Still Friends With Bosco Wong!”
After dating for 8 years, Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) and Bosco Wong’s (黃宗澤) breakup announcement shocked the public. As both parties did not disclose the reason for their split, many speculations arose with no concrete answers. Myolie addressed the breakup in a tearful interview in July. Soon after, she remained tight-lipped on the situation and chose to focus on filming. She hoped that the audience can focus on her work, and not on her personal relationship.
Myolie’s New Short Haircut
At yesterday’s promotional event for Ghetto Justice 2 <怒火街頭2>, Myolie appeared with a short cropped haircut. With the new image, was Myolie showing the world that she had let go of her relationship with Bosco?
Myolie refuted the claims that she cut her hair because she was unhappy after the breakup. She clarified, “It is not related. The producer of Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄2> had requested me to cut my hair. As it took me a long time to grow out my hair previously, I debated whether I should cut it or not. My final decision was to cut my hair because I felt that the haircut suited the new character.”
Wants to Concentrate on Work
While many of her fans are concerned with her well-being, Myolie stressed that she is feeling well. She revealed, “I’m happy to be single. I want to enjoy this time.” She has been busy at work and her schedule was fully booked until the end of the year.
Myolie did not want the public to dwell on her personal matters. However at public events, Myolie had been bombarded with questions regarding Bosco. When asked if they are still communicating, dhe responded, “I don’t want to talk about it. I don’t want to bring it up again.”
As she is currently residing in the same building as Bosco, will Myolie be moving out? To this, she replied, “I will move, but this is a private matter. I don’t want to keep talking about my love life. I hope that everyone can concentrate on my work.”
Remaining Friends with Bosco
Although Myolie and Bosco separated, Myolie still believed that past lovers can remain as friends. Speaking about her views on love, Myolie said, “I will do some self-reflection and think carefully about my future plans. I am quite persistent in love and will do my best to save a relationship. However, this time it failed and ended in a separation. I feel that two people who were in a relationship before can still be friends.”
Regarding Ghetto Justice 2 co-stars, Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) and Christine Kuo’s (茍芸慧) love rumors, Myolie honestly said that she was not aware of it. Myolie did not wish to comment further as she did not want to be scolded by Kevin. She did say that during filming, Kevin treated both females and males equally well.

Not everyone voicing “NO” is a hater. Many of us are honest audience. Myolie looks boyish in her new haircut, but she does not look pretty and feminine. Her short haircut does make her look skinnier.

yeah, much as i like Myolie with her locks, i didn’t think she looks bad wearing this. can be pretty sharp. besides, i guess as an aircraft engineer, it makes sense to have that hair. if only she is being paired with Francis and Chilam. *sigh* sorry, here i am ranting about the pairing again. 😳 btw, am glad Myolie is still friends with Bosco. it’s very painful and tiring to unlike or hold resentment. that person will always be in your system, like a fishbone in your throat. 😛 i only wish for Myolie to be happy. 😉
I’m still iffy about TITS2 pairing too but it’s obvious that TVB needs Myolie to push Ron back to limelight and maybe teach him one of two things about acting. While Chilam and Francis are needed to push Fala to be the next fadan.
Myolie has a highly gracious attitude. Bosco hurt her and she’s still willing to be friends with someone she resented so much. I’m happy to see her happy being single.
The haircut suits her and her role in the series but I do hope that she will grow it back again after she is finished filming.

My standards are pretty high for prettiness. Myolie Wu does have a small head and face. In ancient drama series, such as Ching Dynasty, her small face almost got hidden with her big “head piece” and costumes. Typical example was her queen character in “Curse of the Royal Harem”.
I just meant that with her new short haircut, Myolie looked tall and very slim. A nice hairdo can perfect an artiste’s face. Some people look good with short hair while some people don’t.
However, Myolie short haircut should suit her tom-boyish personality in her new character.
I think it makes her look like a young boy, lmao. But the description is that she’s a bit tomboy-ish, I think, so it does fits the character. Frankly, the cut reminds me a lot of Toby Leung, who ironically is almost always paired up with Ron.

lol, fiona: Myolie said yesterday that she’s happy living a single life :D. We should be happy for her too. Her new house will be a luxury home many classes better than the one in Bosco’s housing area, and she will be living in comfort and happiness surrounded by her two lovely sisters.

I can say that Myolie Wu is pretty professional. She was willing to have her hair cut to suit a tom-boyish character in a new drama series even it was not her choice. She is a lot better than many other artistes (such as Linda Chung) who never changed their hair styles.

Looking at recent filming photos of Myolie standing next to Chilam, they look very cute together. Reminds me of Korean drama, “Cafe Prince” where the heroine masquerades as a boy and duped everyone.

Jayne: You have good eyes too. Myolie is the best candidate in TVB for these strong roles. TGWL was bad because of the way the character was written. TVB force her to gain weight unhealthily but gave her a bad character. It was a stressful moment for her to gain those weights.

Totally agree with you. I don’t mind if Myolie Wu has die-hard fans. They can surely support their idols. I have no objections. However, I think they have to be reasonable. Not everyone likes Myolie’s face and acting. In fact, she does not have a pretty face or good acting. These are true facts. Everyone should have his or her right to voice his/her own opinions or comments.
It is not a one-way street on this Forum. It is open to all: die-hard fans, anti-fans, or honest audience.
I agree and this forum is a place where you should be able to voice your opinions and criticisms as long as you do it constructively. I think many fans are just too obsessed and I do not find that healthy at all.

I don’t mind the haircut. For a long period of time, Myolie was rocking heaps of short cuts and looked really nice with them (Rippling Blossom?). Though I do like her long hair too.

i think myolie is one of those few tvb actresses who can look good with short hair. i liked her hairstyle in the rippling blossom, and she managed to pull off that weird cut in ghetto justice 1. this cut is a bit boyish like most people say but it might look better after a bit of styling.

Myolie is my idol from TITS1 up to now and forever. In TVB actress, I can see Myolie work so hard and professional. She spent a lot of time to have the first position in TVB today. I admire her. She is not so beautiful but she’s charming, lovely, closely and friendly. In my opinion, she’s no.1 in Tvb and also No.1 in my heart. I don’t care who hate her. I only wish my Myolie always healthy and happy. I will always love her and willing share her joy and sorrow.
