Myolie Wu Teaches Her Sons Family Traditions

Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) and her husband, Philip Lee (李乘德), married in 2015. With their sons Brendan (李奕霆), Ryan (李奕霖), and Liam (李奕宏), they are a happy family of five and often share their moments on social media.
During the Lunar New Year holidays, the family visited Philip’s ancestral village to pay respects to their ancestors. Myolie wrote, “We prepared the offerings early in the morning and my eldest son was very helpful. When we arrived at the ancestral hall, the elder family members led our family of five in offering incense. We prepared tea and wine, expressing our respect to our ancestors and praying for the safety and well-being of future generations.”
Philip’s family is from the Hakka, Wo Hang village in Sha Tau Kok. Although he studied abroad, he still follows traditional customs. In the past, he returned to the ancestral hall during the Lantern Festival to light the lanterns. Preserving traditions, Philip believes in the importance of teaching his children about his family past and identity. Philip speaks fluent Hakka and has even filmed videos teaching his children the dialect. Brendan even called his mother, “Fat Myolie!” Jokes aside, Brendan appeared very sincere and smart in the video, helping to place wine cups for the ancestor offerings and even holding the offerings while bowing.
