Nancy Wu Agrees to Expensive Rent to Live Closer to Ruco Chan?
Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) and Nancy Wu’s (胡定欣) rumored relationship is the hottest new commodity in the showbiz market, and magazines can’t help but to continue selling it. The A Fist Within Four Walls <城寨英雄> duo may have gotten more than they expected when they swept both acting and music trophies in last year’s award ceremonies, but 2017 is looking to be a pretty eventful year for the rumored couple too.
A few weeks ago, the cast of TVB’s The Unholy Alliance <同盟>—including Ruco and Nancy—had a big dinner together to celebrate their film wrap. Sources close to the Alliance cast said Ruco and Nancy were quite cozy during the dinner party, and the cast themselves joked that the dinner seemed more like a wedding banquet for the onscreen duo than anything else.
Ruco, the more observant and alert of the two, left the party with several crew members to distract attention. Nancy left five minutes later with her close friend and costar, Elaine Yiu (姚子羚). It took Nancy and Elaine a while to find a taxi, but the two friends were in good spirits, laughing all night. Nancy’s walk was wobbly and she was probably slightly buzzed. Paparazzi said Nancy looked “hyper” all night.
According to a source, Nancy recently renewed her one-year lease on a fix-termed tenancy in Tseung Kwan O’s The Wings II residential complex. Nancy moved in early 2015 and originally paid $33,000 HKD a month for rent. According to a real estate agent who works with the properties in that development, Nancy insisted to stay despite the raise in rent.
“The landlord of the property did not expect Nancy to renew her lease,” the agent said. “The rent was raised to $38,000 HKD a month and she had to sign another fix-termed tenancy for another year.”
What was Nancy’s reason to stay? Sources say it was because of Ruco, who lives in the residential complex Ocean Shores, less than ten minutes away.
Nancy has the means to move homes, as she did purchase a $7 million HKD apartment in Tuen Mun’s Aqua Blue complex back in 2014. But with her insistence to stay in The Wings II—spending $450,000 HKD more a year—could it be possible that she wants to live closer to Ruco?

Love is in the air!
I hope it is not true. Nancy is not good enough for Ruco. He deserves a much more beautiful and sexier girl. Nancy may be a very good actress, but she is lacking in the looks department.
@creditor i hope she is not planning to prey on ruco. hope ruco is not planning to hook up with her. i also hope we will see less of her on tv because she is not the pretty nor feminine type.
@janet72 pls ruco doesn’t need the “feminine ” type. The last thing he needs is someone with princess syndrome!
@isay Being “feminine” does not necessarily mean having a princess syndrome. The two does not go hand in hand.
@creditor That is true but feminine types tend to like being molly-coddled hence i associate them with higher probability of having princess syndrome. But i don’t think he likes “feminine” types anyway. He likes sporty girls. i don’t get why nancy isn’t feminine or why he needs a “feminine” or prettier girl lol. You all sound so shallow. Looks will fade. The most important is to get someone that is compatible with him.
@isay I agree with you. Think they will be a good match. She’s fit and Ruco look like someone who is very active so she can keep up with him. As for her looks. Not gorgeous but she can be feminine too when she let her hair down.
Used to like Nancy until last year where I think she got fame on her head, so she looks kind of arrogant. Hope Annie Liu is the main lead or more screen time than Nancy in the new drama.
@jessehsuan Completely agree with you. I was a Nancy fan since Twin of Brothers, and always supported her/her dramas throughout the years, but ever since last year, she has gotten so arrogant and unbearable. I can’t explain what it is, but I no longer like seeing her or hearing her news. Definitely agree the fame got to her head. She doesn’t seem very genuine anymore and it is quite disappointing.
@melia880 Agree with you, @jessehsuan and @janet72. She comes across as overly confident now and there are traces of cockiness whenever she comes on screen, even in her acting.
TVB should “pause” her for awhile. Her acting aside, it is her looks and femininity or rather the lack of both that make her incompatible with Ruco. She sort of dilutes Ruco’s attractiveness when standing beside him.
@jessehsuan @melia880 I actually never liked Nancy, as she always gave me the impression of being haughty and arrogant, but her acting was decent so kind of gave her the benefit of the doubt. Last year though proved that my instincts about her were right – the smug and overconfident reaction she showed at all the award ceremonies reeked of arrogance and was actually quite annoying to be honest. She is definitely NOT the best actress out there (though she probably thinks she is) and the whole world knows that she won both TV Queen awards by default due to zero competition, so there’s really nothing to be proud of in my opinion.
@llwy12
Although i dont care 2 hoots about Nancy, i feel the comments about her are unfair. With success comes confidence and what is wrong with portraying self confidence? I dont sense any arrogance. Instead see her as poise, confident and playful .
@loveruco I see a lot of haters in here…..I agree with the comments about her here are a bit much. If you don’t know her personally, then don’t just assume what type of person you think she is based on what you see on tv. Those that works with her knows her best. I support both of them
@jessehsuan That is true! It’d be horrible if she wins BA again this year!! 3rd time in a row! C’mon give someone else a chance! TVB is seriously rigged!
They look quite cosy with each other from the above pics. Perhaps there’s some truth to the dating rumours after all. Hope to get the good news soon.
Good point.. Nancy is not the feminine type on screen. Is she a gold digger?
I’ve yet to see Nancy star in a fragile, cutesy role. I don’t think any of the roles she’s done from beginning to now has ever showcased her as being ‘cute.’ She always get the strong roles. To me she’s like the other version of Jessica Hsuan (except at least in Jessica’s case, there was one instance – A Recipe for the Heart – when she wasn’t the strong type.) It’s not really fair to judge her and say she lacks femininity as she’s never portrayed that kind of role before.
Could it be Tseung Kwan O is near work? Her other pad is all the way in Tuen Mun, which is on the other side of HK. I think the media is making a mountain out of a molehill. Nancy is got, so I bet she has a lot of suitors.
Interesting comments about Nancy. Ruco has the irresistible boyish charm while Nancy bears a more matured disposition. Probably what Ruco really wants is none other than a soul-mate, and maybe Nancy just fits his bill of being one. Looks will definitely fade, and not stand the tests of time!
@blest62 So true, as Ruco said in MANY interviews, he doesn’t care how old or beautiful his other half is. He just wants a girl with a great personality.
