Nancy Wu has a Habit of Travelling Alone
Like many people, Nancy Wu (胡定欣) loves to travel and explore the world. Though Nancy is single, she does not mind having long-distance trips by herself and enjoyed the independence of having planned her trips. As Nancy reflects on her 10 years of travelling solo, she shared her thoughts of travelling alone.
In her Instagram post, Nancy comments that while her friends and family would oppose to her her solo trips due to safety concerns, she is insistent on travelling alone, “Of course I also want company, but if no one can accompany me, should I give up the opportunity and right to travel? People can travel alone while slowly looking at the outside world. It’s great to enjoy the scenery along the way! In the end, all the memories would belong to you.”
Each solo trip is an opportunity for personal development and learning to be independent. Without any company, Nancy has freedom in deciding her trips and she doesn’t need to accommodate her friends and their schedules. While Nancy travels at her own pace, eating and drinking to her heart’s content, she also has to step out of her comfort zone and depend on herself. Each solo trip is a unique learning experience and an adventure to create a lasting memory.
Although there are many benefits to travelling alone, Nancy admits that she sometime feels lonely, “Am I really independent? Honestly, I really want someone to travel with.” Fortunately, Nancy can also depend on her good friends in the “Nonsense Club” and was seen travelling with them to Maldives in December.

Solo trips are amazing. While I also travel with family and friends, I enjoy solo trips the best. There is so much feelings of freedom and independence.
Always dreamt of going on a solo trip myself… I’ve only ever been w family and friends
So who takes her photos?
@myxx Right? If she has their assistant w/them that’s not a solo trip. ahha lol..prob a tri-pod or ask strangers.
I admire people who can travel solo because I sure can’t. It’s too lonely for me. I hated traveling alone on business.
@kokomo Me too. I can shop alone even a good movie alone if I really like the casts but I do not like solo vacations. I would either go w/friends or family. Vacations for me it’s really the more the merrier. Besides not that economical w/hotels. Much better and saving w/2 ppl to share. haha lol…
I don’t think it’s that safe to travel alone. Maybe she’s using an old picture or bring a camera with a stand that can take a selfie.
