Natalie Tong Invests in Cake Shop
After Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒), Leo Ku (古巨基), Joyce Cheng (鄭欣宜), and Sharon Chan (陳敏之), the latest Hong Kong celebrity to invest in a bakery business is Natalie Tong (唐詩詠). As the company’s spokesperson, Natalie attended the grand opening of her new pastry shop and shared her creative promotional ideas.
To prepare for the opening of the bakery, Natalie traveled to Hokkaido to learn how to bake cakes. When teased whether she will invest in real estate next, she said, “If I could, that would be best! I am headed towards that direction.”
Touted as the “Cookie Queen”, Sharon Chan already has six stores between Hong Kong and Macau. With the success of her cookie stores, Sharon is now entering into the production of mooncakes as well. “Although I’m busy raising my son right now, I’ll try my best to take some time out to manage my business hands-on. Right now, all my shops are doing better and better. I have plans to also sell cakes and bread, but there are location issues that need to be settled first. I’ll take it one step at a time. Maybe after I’m done being busy with mooncakes!”
When teased that Natalie has moved ahead of her to open a cake shop, Sharon smiled and said, “It doesn’t matter. I’m mainly focusing on cookies. They’re two different things. I’m supportive of her. My makeup artist has also bought Natalie’s cakes. I’ve tried it. We can network. Back then when Leo opened a cookie store, I would network and talk with his wife about it. Positive competition is a good thing!”
