Natalie Tong Likes to Daydream
After My Unfair Lady <不懂撒嬌的女人>, Vincent Wong (王浩信) and Natalie Tong (唐詩詠) reunite on screen in TVB drama, The Man Who Kills Troubles <解決師>. In a recent interview, the two shared how they built their chemistry, and their understanding of each other.
To Vincent, Natalie is a daydreamer whom he feels he needs to pull her back to Earth. Though that is her weakness, he believes that she is everyone’s “ideal girlfriend”. He envisions that her future partner will have to be someone brave to ask her out. Natalie then clarifies that she does not like building an “army of admirers,” and she makes clear distinctions between friendships and romantic relationships.
In The Man Who Kills Troubles, Natalie portrays Miss Chan who befriends Vincent’s character, O Sir, at the school they work at. Though originally they do not agree on the same teaching style, they end up falling in love. During a promotion event, Vincent said, “When I was greeting her, she forgot to disconnect herself from the drama and called me O Sir.”
Natalie laughed and admits she has this problem. In terms of continuing their onscreen chemistry since they’ve already worked together before, Natalie said, “Last time, we had a lot of feedback from our roles and everyone was anticipating our chemistry. This time, the audience can experience our romance in a different light. I know we have the same values in terms of acting, so hopefully we can be fully prepared and the audience can decide if it is good enough!”
Natalie also revealed that she is not as forward as her character Miss Chan, and has never confessed to a man before. She said, “I am scared of rejection, but I really admire men who have the courage to confess. They get bonus marks! I also don’t like men who make me guess.”
