“Ne Zha 2” Soars to $1.9 Billion at Box Office

Released on Lunar New Year, animated film Ne Zha 2 <哪吒2>, has become the biggest Chinese movie of all time. Grossing over $1.9 billion USD worldwide to-date, Ne Zha 2 is the only non-Hollywood movie to enter the top 20 global box office history list and has broken China’s film history box office records.
It has recently been announced that the film will be released soon in Hong Kong in Macau and will be distributed by Oriental Pictures, Intercontinental Films, Silver Metro and Emperor Motion Pictures. Regarding the release of Nezha 2, Oriental Pictures Chairman Raymond Wong (黃百鳴) expressed, “Oriental Pictures has been working with Enlight for many years. It is a great honor to be able to work with Enlight again and bring such an excellent Chinese animated film to Hong Kong and Macau, so that the audience can enjoy it in the cinema in person!”
It has been a six-year wait between the first Ne Zha film and its sequel. Director Jiaozi (餃子) collaborated with nearly 140 different teams and more than 4,000 animators from across the globe to produce the film which sports jaw-dropping special effects.
