Netizens Impressed with Wong Cho-lam’s Impersonations of Lawrence Ng and Nicholas Tse
Netizens laughed out loud at Wong Cho-lam’s (王祖藍) hilarious yet spot-on impersonations of Lawrence Ng (吳啟華) and Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒) in some recent web mini dramas.
Cho-lam, who found fame in China through his appearances in variety show Your Face Sounds Familiar <百變大咖秀>, has impersonated numerous celebrities in the past to popular success. Currently endorsing a mobile phone app, Cho-lam has been releasing a new web mini drama each week to promote the product.
In his most recent series of commercials, Cho-lam impersonated Lawrence Ng’s “Dr. Paul Ching” from Healing Hands <妙手仁心> and actor Nicholas Tse, impressing netizens once again.
In one of the commercials, Cho-lam teamed up with Ada Choi (蔡少芬) for a Healing Hands parody, choking the fans with nostalgia and laughter. In another, Cho-lam pretended to be Nicholas Tse teaching the viewers how to cook, like on his show Chef Nic <12道鋒味>.
“Cho-lam is so good at impersonating,” said one netizen. “He may not look like him, but he definitely acts like him!”
“That Healing Hands parody with Ada Choi was really hilarious,” said another netizen. “But only the glasses resemble Dr. Ching.”
“Cho-lam is pretty good at being Nicholas,” praised a netizen.

ehehehehhe clips were funny!
Ada looks best with short hair!
I think he has exhausted the impersonations genre, if it is a genre.
Lawrence ng not so on point and not funny but nic is on point and hilarious. However i always thought johnson lee was the better if the 2 when it comes to impersonation but his problem is he is not likable.
@funnlim I think Johnson Lee is good too but as you said, he’s not likeable.
@isay
Louis Yuen is the most likeable of the 3 but he isn’t the best at impersonating,though I don’t think that’s important. He’s the one I enjoy watching in TVB series whilst Wong Cho Lam and Johnson Lee are annoying.
@jimmyszeto True. Louis is the most popular and well received of the 3. But Johnson was perhaps the most talented but the least likeable. Wong Cho Lam is somewhere in the middle but his strength perhaps is more in writing, I think? I don’t enjoy Johnson Li in a series but I enjoy him in impersonation shows. He is excellent in capturing the essence of the person he is impersonating.
@funnlim
Yes. Johnson has the whole package. He can write, act, impersonate and direct. He should achieve the most success in the long term. Wong Cho Lam has similar strengths but with much lesser depth. He can still learn and get better though. Overall they are both probably better at working at behind the scenes and that’s what they will eventually settle into. Louis though has already proven without doubt that he is a long term stayer within the entertainment circle.
