New Trailer Dropped for Huang Xiaoming’s C-Drama “Game Changer”
Huang Xiaoming’s (黄晓明) upcoming TV drama Game Changer <危机先生> is expected to be what it is exactly like—a game changer.
Produced by Youku, Game Changer is based on a series of real events, and how a man mediates through society as he overcomes his own PR nightmare. It also stars Cai Wenjing (蔡文静), Tan Zhuo (谭卓), Zhang Bo (张博), and Taiwanese actor Lin Yo Wei (林佑威).
In a time when idol dramas and idol celebrities dominate the Chinese entertainment market, Game Changer is being hailed by netizens as a “reliable series” in several different ways. Helmed by screenwriter Cao Xueping (曹雪萍), Game Changer is based on true stories where PR teams were put to the test to overcome bad publicity. Such stories include cases involving domestic abuse and gender inequality. With relatable topics, Game Changer is expected to catch viewers’ attention.
The series is also directed by Hui Kaidong (惠楷栋), who also directed Winter Begonia <鬓边不是海棠红> and Story of Yanxi Palace <延禧攻略>. Game Changer will be Hui and Huang’s second collaboration since Winter Begonia.
