Nicky Wu Cannot Accept a Shotgun Marriage
Although there is a 17-year age difference between Nicky Wu (吳奇隆) and Cecilia Liu (劉詩詩), the pair denied any generation-gap problems. Regarded as the newest superstar duo, Nicky and Cecilia fell in love after collaborating on three mainland Chinese dramas, including the runaway success Bu Bu Jing Xin <步步惊心>.
After spotted spending eight hours at Cecilia’s house in Shanghai in early November, Nicky finally announced that they have been dating. Nicky said that he never tried to hide the relationship from the public.
“The story of us dating is something that is positive. After publicizing our relationship, the paparazzi no longer needs to chase our cars and perform such dangerous stunts. They won’t need to sleep outside our buildings either. We just hope that everyone can relax after knowing the truth,” Nicky said.
As to why he denied the rumors with Cecilia last year, Nicky truthfully answered that they were only friends at the time. He jokingly added, “Your words are dangerous! If I said I was in a relationship, it’ll be the headline on the newspaper the next day!”
Too Reserved for Shotgun Marriage
As Nicky was spotted spending more time at Cecilia’s house, this prompted rumors that they were living together, which he subsequently denied. Nicky said that they are currently satisfied with the state of their relationship and have no plans for marriage yet. And since both are well known figures in the entertainment industry, Nicky and Cecilia would often times communicate through phone and video-chatting – leaving no room for any intimate moments.
Nicky then commented that his relationship with Cecilia is not as advanced, and that the idea of a shotgun marriage is too open for him to accept.

Kevin: In summary, he was saying how nicky and shi shi need some privacy especially since they probably haven’t been dating for long. An announcement such as Nicky’s (that he’s dating shi shi) should be carried out once the subjects feel as though the relationship is stable since you don’t know what could happen such as not being compatible.

So basically, they started to get closer during Bu Bu Jing Qing and that other series of Nickys. Man, the bedding scene must have done it for her…hahaha.
Jokes aside I hope Nicky keeps to his word and keeps out of mischief and that Shi Shi also ‘behaves’ herself! Nowadays these ‘shotgun’ weddings seem to be quite the norm. However, I still like the old traditional values, that is, get married first before anything happens.

I actually like artists that are more open since I hate it when celebs who are caught red handed that still lie through their teeth. Why would he need more attention? He already has a lot of it.
