Park Bo Gum Confirmed for “Good Boy”

Just in time to coincide with the piqued interest of the Olympics, JTBC announced that new South Korean drama, Good Boy, will star Park Bo Gum, Kim So Hyun, Oh Jung Se, Heo Sung Tae, Lee Sang Yi, and Tae Won Seok in main roles. The Avengers-like criminal investigation action drama revolves around a group of athletes who are recruited to join a special team within the police force dedicated to solving violent crimes and bringing justice to villains and evil-doers.

In the lead role, Park Bo Gum will play Yoo Dong Joo, a squad patrolman who becomes an officer through the special recruitment mechanism for Olympic medalists. Winning a gold medal in boxing, Yoo Dong Joo does not hesitate to throw himself into danger for the sake of justice. Kim So Hyun stars as Ji Hanna, a gold medal winner in shooting who also becomes part of the special criminal justice team. Lee Sang Yi stars as Kim Jong Hyun, a silver medalist in fencing who gave up the sport due to injury and eventually joined the special team. Heo Seong Tae plays the role of Ko Man Sik, a bronze medalist in wrestling and the leader of the special crimes team. Although he may not be the most physically gifted, Ko Man Sik’s value as the team lead comes from his strong intuition for sensing crises. Tae Won Seok stars as Xin Jae Hong, a bronze medalist in discus throw. In contrast with his burly appearance, Xin Jae Hong is actually a warm and gentle husband and father who joins the special crimes team for the sake of a better living for his family.
