Park Seo Joon Set to Star in New Thriller Drama “Project K”
Korean heartthrob Park Seo Joon may be making his comeback to dramaland with upcoming thriller Project K, to be helmed by acclaimed screenwriter Kang Eun Kyung and director Dong Yoon Jeong.
Last appearing in 2020’s international hit drama Itaewon Class, the actor’s agency Awesome Entertainment shared in a statement released on May 14 that Park Seo Joon recently received an offer for Project K. Both parties are currently in talks about their respective work schedules, with specific details yet to be ironed out.
The drama will be led by scriptwriter Kang Eun Kyung, who has several classic productions such as 2001’s Hotelier; 2010’s Bread, Love and Dreams; and 2016’s Dr Romantic. Director Dong Yoon Jeong was the directing force behind 2016’s well-received Stove League.
Project K will explore heavy universal themes of human dignity, sorrow, insecurity and survival. Park Seo Joon will likely play Jang Tae Sang, a practical character who cares little for worldly values and right-wrong ethics, but his way of life if challenged after meeting the female lead.
Fans are eager to see how Park Seo Joon, dubbed the “Nation’s Boyfriend’ in South Korea, would carry the role, given the panache he has brought to his ex-convict turned businessman character in Itaewon Class. In the mean time, the 32-year-old is currently wrapping up filming for Concrete Utopia alongside Lee Byung Hun and Park Bo Young.
