Popular Miss Hong Kong Contestant, Ellyn Ngai, Falls Ill
The 15 Miss Hong Kong contestants attended a makeup brand event, which was held outside under the scorching sun. Having been previously spotlighted by the media due to her resemblance to Michelle Reis (李嘉欣), 23-year-old Ellyn Ngai (倪樂琳) had previously fallen ill but powered through the event regardless.
After partaking in the group photo, Ellyn quickly pulled on her face mask again before facing reporters. Sharing that she currently has a headache, runny nose, and slight fever, her condition continued to worsen despite taking medicine. Although it was sunny, Ellyn did not think that contributed to her worsening condition. “The sun wasn’t too bad. The main issue was that I wanted to cough, but had to hold it in.”
On whether the pageant’s jampacked schedule impacted her health negatively, Ellyn expressed, “It may have contributed a little bit. The studio where we film indoor recordings is sometimes too cold. I have enough rest lately, as I am learning how to manage my time better. I would go to bed immediately after getting home. My health has always been great, but I’d occasionally get sick every now and then.”
Asked whether she took a COVID test beforehand, Ellyn said she plans to do so immediately after the event as she initially did not think her condition would worsen to this extent. On whether she plans to request some time off, Ellyn expressed that she does not want to take too much time away as finals night is coming up. “I want to persevere for as long as I can, but I really can’t take it anymore. I’m not too worried though and am confident that I will recover quickly. Next time, everyone will see a more energetic and livelier Ellyn.”

Gold digger for sure, trying to PR with the illness… And she look more like JJ Jia 贾晓晨 than Mihell Reis
Dear TVB, fever means infection and infection means contagious. People should not work or come in contact with others if they have a fever.
Michelle Reis? I don’t see the resemblance whatsoever. If she has a fever, she really should not be at a public event like this and should’ve taken a precautionary test.
