Possible Girlfriend? Ruco Chan Wants To Date Openly
Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) attended a grand opening event at a shopping mall on Friday. Ruco, who turned 39 years old on January 14, was greeted by hundreds of fans as he went on stage. The fans sang happy birthday and presented him with a cake and a fresh bouquet of flowers.
In a later press interview, Ruco said he spent his birthday on the set of ICAC Investigators 2016 <廉政行動2016>. He shared that his birthday wish is to see his family in good health; he also hopes to find more breakthroughs in his acting career.
When asked why his birthday wish didn’t include finding a girlfriend, Ruco smiled and teased, “Maybe she has appeared already.” The reporters then suggested Ruco to make the relationship public like what Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) and Grace Chan (陳凱琳) chose to do. Ruco joked, “I don’t know. I want to make it public too. I hope she appears soon. [Announce it now!] Announce what?”
Asking if his management has been pressuring him to keep his dating life in the low, Ruco said, “No pressure at all. Companies don’t do that anymore. It’s not popular. Nowadays, dating publicly can actually benefit you more. I hope I’ll have some of those benefits someday.”
But girlfriend or not, Ruco said he will be busy in the coming months as he will be starring in a new drama with Kenneth Ma (馬國明) after shooting ICAC Investigators 2016. He will also be flying to the United States to perform in a concert with Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) on Valentine’s Day.
Ruco’s new drama with Kenneth Ma, tentatively titled Hot Pursuit <乘勝追擊>, has raised quite a few gossip concerning about their screen time in the series. Ruco expressed that Kenneth deserves to be the first male lead and does not mind if he is demoted to a lesser role.

i would be happy for Ruco if he has a girlfriend.
he’s been paired with linda several times, but i feel he deserves better since she doesn’t appreciate him.
@janet72: frankly, I’ll be both sad and happy. Sad because he is so damn hot and I’m obsessed with him. Happy because as a real fan, really wished he can find a good girl/happiness. Everyone needs love…
@lml1977 i know what you mean…i would be very sad if ruco has a girlfriend but i am only his fan. so i wish him all the best in his career and finding Miss Right.
@janet72: actually, many viewers love this Ruco-Linda pairing. They really look compatible (looks-wise) together and Linda seems like a nice girl too. They are performing together in the US over the CNY/Valentine’s day period…maybe something will blossom this time since Linda is single now….
@lml1977: I thought Linda has relationship with Phillip, when they broke up?
@wenwen: Linda and Philip have already broken up last year! Not sure when…but when Philip was interviewed in July/Aug last year during a martial arts practice for new drama A Fist Within Four Walls, he told the media (when asked) that he and Linda have not met in a long time and they are still friends. Linda also admitted to being single recently in one of the talk show. She was able to talk openly about Philip during this talk show. She didn’t explicitly say they broke up, just said she is now single…

@janet72 “since she don’t appreciate him” ???? Linda have appreciate Ruco since the first time working together. She have never said anything bad about Ruco and always praises him. Always thanking him. She always appreciate him helping her out. Wonder what makes u think she don’t appreciate him?

@janet72: now that Linda is single, maybe things will be different? Linda’s image has always been a good girl, staunch Christian. Even if she liked Ruco when they were filming BK and ATIBIS, nothing would have happened as she was dating Philip. She can’t possibly dump Philip and date Ruco. I do find Linda a sweet and nice girl, and Ruco seems to like her also. Ruco is a nice, genuine guy + a hot and rare gem…so I hope he finds a good & nice girl…

I agree, Linda Chung’s acting might still need improvement but I feel she is still a very sweet girl even after so many years in showbiz. She still has that sweet girl imagine vibe.
@janet72 well then just say “she don’t like him” instead of “she don’t appreciate him”. She can’t like Ruco at that time because she is dating someone already. Anyways, now she is single will be a totally different story.
I liked Ruco when he starred with Tavia in The Other Truth, and not since. Like him with Tavia.

@kangaroo: I liked Ruco in every drama since TOT. Really wished TVB had made a sequel and capitalize on TOT/Ruco’s rising popularity when the drama was really quite well received at that time when it aired. Ruco gave consistently outstanding performance in every drama he lead and even in small roles when he wasn’t popular yet. For some strange reason, I don’t find Ruco and Tavia looking compatible now. Then in 2011 TOT, I liked the Ruco-Tavia pairing.
@janet72: I liked Ruco’s performance in Forensic Heroes but didn’t like the Ruco-Maggie pairing. Ruco was styled to look much older than his real age (plus he acted that way in the drama as well) to complement Maggie. They don’t look good together and I do feel the chemistry was lacking between them. Ruco’s chemistry with his onscreen partners is usually quite evident but somehow lacking in Forensic Heroes. IMO, the whole drama was quite a drag compared to previous installments.
@lml1977 but i like his style very much in forensic heroes. that spectacle frame suits him and he is so charming.
