Raymond Lam Celebrates 34th Birthday in Japan With Karena Ng
Raymond Lam (林峯) and Karena Ng (吳千語) spent nine days touring Japan while celebrating Raymond’s 34th birthday on December 8. Reporters and local fans easily noticed the couple’s high-profile relationship although they attempted to avoid the public’s eye. Allegedly, this Japan trip totaled over $1 million HKD, which all came out of Raymond’s pockets. Busy earning RMB this entire year in mainland China, he asked for a ten-day break to spend as much time with his girlfriend as possible.
In the afternoon of December 2, Raymond and Karena were spotted checking in separately at the Hong Kong International Airport to dodge the media. Upon arrival at Kansai International Airport in Osaka, the two checked their surroundings and made sure reporters were absent before holding hands. They soon checked into the six-star St. Regis Hotel located in downtown Osaka. Raymond and Karena ordered a Grand Deluxe room that featured the hotel’s best facilities, reportedly costing over $4,000 HKD per night.
The couple allegedly spent 18 hours inside their room and did not leave until sunset. A fan reported seeing Raymond and Karena shopping avidly and taking photographs. The fan shared, “Raymond wore sunglasses and a face mask. It was hard not to see him. He was at least carrying four shopping bags, and two of the bags were full of electronics. I think Karena bought the newest beauty equipment?”
Although Raymond was said to have paid for all the trip’s expenses, Karena was allegedly the one who planned the itinerary and chose the accommodation. Knowing her boyfriend loves seafood, she surprised him with a delicious crab dinner at a restaurant located in the Dotonburi area. After spending three days in Osaka, the couple boarded a bullet train to Tokyo, where they continued their crazy shopping.
In a recent interview, Raymond expressed his desire to have children since he is in his thirties. “I don’t want to have a huge gap [with my children].” Furthermore, he believes it would be ideal to have both a son and a daughter. When Karena was questioned about marriage, she replied Raymond is the right man. The couple’s remarks led to speculations that a flash marriage may happen at any moment.
Raymond finished filming mainland Chinese drama, The Virtuous Queen of Han <大漢賢后衞子夫>, last month. Since he did not appear on the TVB screen at all this year, he remains indifferent about the upcoming awards ceremony. Next January, Raymond will star in new TVB crime thriller, The Apostle <使徒行者>, alongside Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) and Michael Miu (苗僑偉).

Of course, Raymond is the right man for her. Karena is such a lucky girl. But, I think Karena must have something that Raymond really loves her to pamper her on those expenses of travel and shopping. Beside the physical attraction, Karena’s personality must be pretty good, so that is why Raymond is still with her.
Karena is a fortunate woman to find a man who makes more than her, so that she can have unlimited resources!!
I agree that Karena needs to have somewhat of a good personality for the relationship to hold up longer than a few months. It may or may not be physical attraction that he’s attracted to in the beginning (a lot of Raymond’s previous girlfriends or rumored girlfriends have similar faces and body shape), but that will wear off if the woman is not interesting. I can’t remember how long they have been dating yet though, since February?
I feel we all know so little about Karena other than the fact that she likes to shop. The reports that regards Karena are always tied to Raymond. :/
I feel like Karena wouldn’t want to get married so young though or anyone in the entertainment industry who has potential for greater success. She’s only 20 and how many celebrities do know that were married at that age? 25, maybe.

In fact there are many things about Karena reported in prior the relationship but as she is a movie actress, her articles are only translated in Jaynestar after she dates LF. She has a quite smooth career from start with a nomination for Best newcomer with HKFA. She is chosen to be spokesperson for a lot of famous brands as well as having roles in movies. She does radio hosts, too. At this moment, her career is still good with 1-2 functions every week. Tabloids said tat she receives about 80-100k HKD per function which is even higher than Linda, the highest paid Txb actress.
You never know since Veteran Angie Chiu married when she was only 20-21 but sadly that marriage ended in divorce. Not to say that that will happen if Raymond and Karena gets married since it really varies. If they have dated for over a year, they may get married since put here are some who date for less than a month(like Big S for example) and end up together while there are others who date fir many years and end up breaking up. It just varies from case to case.

Not commenting on other thing, but if Karena is not dating Raymond, she won’t fetch HKD80,000 per event. Unless you can show news/report saying she does before her rumor with Raymond started. The reason she’s getting so much is because of the extra popularity and media interest on her as Raymond’s girlfriend.

You are absolutely right. If Karena Ng does not date Raymond Lam, she will not have that kind of popularity right now, not even 30% close to the one she has now.

The reason why he did not stay long with Mavis Pan could be the long distance relationship. Karena Ng lives in Hong Kong, so does Raymond Lam. It is so much easier to see each other and have good communications. Their culture is same, and Raymond is crazily in love with Karena and can satisfy her easily with money and gifts. Therefore Raymond is able to keep his relationship longer and may be for a long time.
Its a fact that her name soared after the date but it doesnt mean she has no career before or after the date. She has the benefit of the date like all love relationship or love rumours. Sehseh, do you have an example of a love rumours (not the negative ones) that lessened fees of anyone?
The tabloids told that her fees before the dates was 40-50k which were doubled after dating. Uhm, with that price, she is stil better than a lot of top fadans in Txb. The nomination doesn’t mean much but she was recognized and her price went up after being nominated. Like love, it benefited her.
To oversea audience, she is nameless. In HK, before the date, she already had something. Oh well, actually the love rumour with Wu Chun must be the very first benefited love rumours to her, to make her name on newspaper.
Frankly, I think she can do as good as Tong mui in HK without the date.
Btw, if you watched the clips attached to this tabloid, Karena was the one who paid in the shops. From her wallet. Perhaps he doesn’t buy her all but to comfort her bf, she has to pay sometimes. It isn’t like she has no money as she went functions quite a lot.

Newsflash: Karena is not popular as an actress. She is mostly known for her status as Raymond’s girlfriend. Ask any HK passerby to recall Karena role names and chances are, they identify her as RL gf and couldn’t remember her roles.
It’s quite common for lengmos and rookie actress to get publicity through dating rumors. And it obviously worked.

To say Karena is jobless or have no career or her only career is LF’s gf is an exaggeration as well. I said that Karena’s career can goes as good as Tong Mui (prolly can’t get to that level now) because Karena is still a newbie in the industry. She started her acting career in 2011 (Magic to win), 3 years up to now, minus 1.5 year of the date then she has 1.5 years. With 1.5 years, she is able to have some fame (such as a nomination with HKFA, leading roles in movies, host work), so what’s up with a life without LF? We can have some assumptions. I have no idea why you and some others have to pull that much hatred on Karena. By knowing as LF’s gf benefited her or not, her price is still higher than a lot of actresses. And it’s her gain. Watever, from the start of career, Karena has a stronger base than many other girls, including the Txb actresses. She has leading roles since start, is paid more than many other rookies (with 3 years experiences) and is recognized by famous brands (bring her money). Her career, in my opinion, is good enough. Not the most popular in HK but a fair popularity before the date. Definitely not a minor career like you claimed.

Only artists who are nominated gets invited to attend. Of course, many TVB artists can sit among the mass audience to watch the show.
I think he can still come to watch the show, but then again he may be busy with other stuff. I wonder if him not filming any TVB series indicating that he may leave TVB soon or not? But it is good the he will be filming a new series with Charmaine and Miu. Too bad it is a modern series.
Again, he has never confirmed that he will film that series. He always says that he only agreed to film the sale presentation clip for Txb. As Tommy Leung is leaving in next Feb, the chance he will stay in Txb is lessened. Perhaps he will sign with TVBC as a way to remain the relationship with Txb while venturing out more.

basic jap is easy, just get a small jap-english pocket book at any bookshop, and jap people understand old mandarin characters, btw, they don’t like foreigners but they do like money.

In this case, the publicity on her romance with Raymond greatly benefits her career so not surprise if her manager tipped off the reporter on her and Raymond vacation in Japan.

Obviously they can’t be taken by Carmen Cheung, Karena’s manager as she is enjoying a honeymoon with her husband Edmond Wong. I just tell that the article said of a fan. In Japan, he has a fair amount of fans who went to his birthday party last time. So does Korea.

I do think some jump to conclusions that Karena is solely with Raymond for his money, although that may be one of the reasons, that can’t be the main and only reason. She could date some old ass billionaire instead since being a young mis so popular/easy to meet society’s elite. She doesn’t have to pick an actor.
