Raymond Lam: “Karena Ng is Not a Gold Digger!”
The media often labels Karena Ng (吳千語) as a material girl since she started dating Raymond Lam (林峯). The couple is known to take frequent shopping trips in Europe, where Raymond has been spotted buying designer goods for Karena Ng (吳千語).
The couple just returned from a trip in London, where Raymond purchased artwork and enjoyed the local shopping scene. Raymond admitted that since dating Karena, she has been a big influence on his wardrobe choices. Karena, who is very up-to-date with current fashion and trends, often gives Raymond much-needed fashion advice. “She’s always had her own style. I trust her suggestions. I have a problem making decisions sometimes and she would be around to take a look.”
Since Raymond’s lavish princess-themed party for Karena’s 21st birthday in October, criticism resurfaced over her preference for luxury items.
Raymond shot down rumors that Karena asked him to buy her designer gifts. “She is definitely not a gold digger. She is very hard working.” Raymond also said that both him and Karena are not the type of people who prefer luxury items over affordable brands. “It all depends on the quality and if it matches well.”

Raymond seems to be head-over-heels for Karena while she seems to be materialistic. I’m sure dating Raymond has brought her many prospective jobs and fame. It’s a win-win.

@Hannah: A lot of people know her since Magic to win. She is spokenperson of multi brands before meeting LF. The TVB followers of course dont know her because she has never been in TVB series, like you dont know Candy Tong, the queen of advertisement in HK. She is benefitted fame from the love, but she is definitely famous than Jackie X or Eve or Angel T., etc..
She is lead in her movies, and high-demand for young. She mainly filmed for his boss Raymond Wong but Donnie Yen also got famous from Raymond Wong’s, then it is ok. She signed with Pegasus since 2009 and be lead in 2010 with Magic to win. LF knew and filmed for Raymond Wong in 2011-2012. They only knew each other during filming in 2012, so if she was only known and got opportunities because of the love, what happened during 2010 -2012 period? The producers can forseen future to know who her bf will be to cast her in movies or spokenperson or shows? I think you has the answer for yourself.

Yes, it is true. There are many news about his successes or works or achievements hasnt been translated or has been cut out of the original Chinese texts, leaving only Karena related in. This one is an example. Or in the other one, the part of Myolie is cut out but other part about other actor is kept but shortened.

Oh it’s not that. It’s the fact that she turned 21 and that age is usually symbolised as finally becoming an adult. Therefore to be thrown a princess party seems quite the opposite… like she’s a little girl.

@nomad, it depends. Cus some women look for legitimacy of their relationships. Nobody wants to be just another number- it’s shameful. The women end up thinking whether or not they’re worthless to be kept in that state. That’s why Karena is very lucky in that aspect. Every girl raymond’s dated were kept in the dark, except her. And while Isabella may have the riches, she’s pretty much seen as just a baby making machine.
Yes, in comparison to Karena. And I’d agree yes Karena’s also lucky to be outed as the official gf, where her 2 predecessors have failed.
My reply really was more comparing Isabella 2 (Richard Li) to Isabella 1 (Empire).
Richard Li was one of the few people in HK with enough clout and who could go up and against the powerful Empire group with repercussions.
So in comparison to her previous state, I’d still say Isabella has won her freedom (comparative to her former self).
I am sure while under Empire Isabella too could have got everything Karena had, from houses to designer bags and princess cake parties, if so desired … but NOT her own peace of mind, freedom and independence.
So I may stand corrected on this, but Isabella also seems really low profile even among her friends, without seeming attention seeking. Nowhere as high profile as Karena who goes on shopping sprees and dines at Cova with her friends (where the HK society crowd like Kathy Tsui have their high teas).
One seems to be making up for deprivation (and dare I saw borderline wannabe), the other just seems more graceful going about it.
@nomad : if one of the predesCessors you mentioned is Rain Li, then you may miss one of her interview two years ago. She said that LF and her did want to announce the relationship to public but her Company and TVB disagreed. They forced both to keep secret because they were newbies. After that, they broke up in peace so there wasnt an announcement. She also commented that LF always like to announce his love. If he doesnt tell the press, he will introduce his gf to his friends. Even with PSS, Many people including Joe Ma, Ron, Micheal Tse, 620 claimed that they met PSS before the breakup.
Lets wait until he marries her. And the fortune discrepancy between Li and lam is too obvious to point out. Isabella is set for life.

I wont say everyone. There are a lot of supporters of the couple, including me. From the beginning when they first have news to go for a date, I know they would cherish each other. Since they are together for two years despite all bashes to wish them break, their relationship stay strong and sweet, something I admire.

SOME people, not all as “any of you” implies.
Even wealthy old-rich come in all shapes and sizes as to how high/low key they want to be.

Them going on vacations in various popular spots and buying brand names items are the same as u people going to Disneyland and buying genetic brands. your gift to your significant other might be a Toyota but for them could be a Ferrari or Bentley.
