Raymond Lam’s New Police Drama “In the Storm” Airs
The success of Modern Dynasty (家族榮耀) with its exciting storyline, star-studded cast, and great filming quality may bring about increased filming partnerships between Hong Kong and China. In the Storm (黑金風暴) is the most recent Hong Kong web drama to stream on Youku starting March 10.
Although the suspense crime thriller is produced by Xiamen’s Ledao Entertainment, it has a strong TVB flavor due to the cast. Raymond Lam (林峯), Raymond Wong (黃浩然), Chrissie Chau (周秀娜), Shiga Lin (連詩雅), Oscar Leung (梁競徽), Sam Lee (李燦森), Derek Kok (郭政鴻), Hugo Ng (吳岱融), and Evergreen Mak (麥長青) anchor the main cast.
Two senior members of the police force team up to investigate corruption involving many top-level society members in Hong Kong. Senior Inspector Wai King Sheng (Raymond Lam) and ICAC Senior Investigation Director He Wai Lin (Raymond Wong) are neither friend nor foe, but must use utilize their wits and intelligence in a race against time to expose the truth. As the stakes are raised, King Sheng is on the run when he is framed for a crime and killers are hot on his trail….
In the Storm not only boasts a stellar cast, but also promises an exciting storyline and a high quality production. The series comprises of nine major cases, with some cases being inspired by real life events, featuring guest appearances by Lawrence Ng (吳啟華), Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), Kenneth Ma (馬國明) and Lynn Hung (熊黛林).

I’m on episode 6 and so far, I enjoy it. I mean it’s the typical undercover/cop plot but the story makes sense and is consistent at least so far. The cast is good too. Love Raymond L and Oscar together, looking forward to the guest appearances as well.
There’s Bosco Wong and Kenneth Ma as guess appearance? Don’t see their names. Interesting..
