Raymond Wong Left TVB in June Last Year

Signed to Louis Koo’s (古天樂) company Sky High Entertainment, 46-year-old Raymond Wong (黃浩然) has quietly left TVB in June last year!

Last drama was “Forensic Heroes IV”

Although the actor once clarified that he will continue working with TVB in the future, he has not appeared in any of the station’s productions since 2019’s Forensic Heroes IV <法證先鋒IV>, but was instead seen in web dramas Modern Dynasty <家族榮耀> and the recently airing In the Storm <黑金風暴>.

Since joining TVB in 2016, he was heavily promoted and played prominent roles in several classic, well-known productions in its heyday. Though he was an A-lister for many years, he was never managed directly by TVB but only signed a serial-based contract with the station. While he received nominations for Best Actor award in 2012, 2014 and 2016, Raymond has no affinity with the TV King title in over 15 years of acting.

His latest drama In the Storm, which also stars Raymond Lam (林峯) and Chrissie Chau (周秀娜) is currently airing on Hong Kong’s free-to-air Open TV, in a face-off with TVB.

Brush with Illness

Hoping to film as many dramas in the shortest duration possible, the father of two once tried starting work at 6.30am after ending work at 3am. Diagnosed with Behçet’s disease in 2014 , he experienced difficulty with even eating and swallowing. Losing over 10 pounds while being put on IV drip everyday during his brush with illness, he was forced to stop work entirely to allow his body to recover.

  1. I clicked in because the outside caption said “54 year old actor” and I was shocked, lol. I like Raymond’s personality. Seems low key and drama free. His acting isn’t the best or the worst of TVB, but he is easy to watch.
