Raymond Wong Wants to Film “Forensic Heroes V”

Forensic Heroes IV <法證先鋒IV> aired to much success, even surpassing the third installment which aired in 2013. The success of the fourth installment of the franchise is also one of the best ways to celebrate the retirement of producer TVB Mui Siu Ching (梅小青), whose career spanned over 40 years.

Amid the global health crisis, Raymond Wong (黃浩然) and Rebecca Zhu (朱晨麗) attended the viewing part of the finale recently. The duo has collaborated on several other occasions as well, which contributed greatly to their compatibility working together on-screen. Raymond joked, “In a previous drama, Rebecca portrayed my character’s mother. This time, she is my sister. The possibilities in acting and filming are extremely expansive.”

With the success of the drama, have either Raymond or Rebecca probed Mui Siu Ching about the possibility of a fifth installment? Rebecca responded, “I don’t dare ask. Although I really hope it will happen, I also have to take into consideration her health. I want her to get enough rest and focus on her health. My emotions are mixed and conflicting.”

Raymond added on with a joke, “I only read in the papers that the next installment is rumored to star Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) and Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣)! The producer herself did not say anything. She is always playing coy like that. However, if there really is a next installment, I hope to add a touch of comedy to it.”

  1. No more FHs! This last installment lost its spark and will never surpass the original in terms of storytelling and acting. I had no interest in keeping up with the series and only watched it to cure my boredom.

  2. ~Spoilers ahead~

I’m happy that every couple has a happy ending. The only couple who had chemistry was Stan and GaHay I was shipping them from the very start. I found King and Queen had the least chemistry (Idk why they married so fast), and I felt GoOn and ChuiYee had more of a best friend-sister relationship. LOL at the sex scene always a phone call that interrupts them.

Things that I wished was included:
An interaction between GoOn’s big sister and ChuiYee. – how did Big Sis feel? Suppose this means in the 5th instalment (if there is one) she can get revenge? I wanted to see some type of sympathetic-remorse-angry scene between them. Since ChuiYee didn’t even apologise to Big Sis.

I wanted to see flashbacks between GaHay and ChowJeh. When GaHay was crying because she died I didn’t feel sad. I understand they had a strong connection but as an audience If they had flashbacks like for example ChowJeh caring for her when she was younger I think i would’ve felt more sympathy.

I also wanted to see the back story between Stan and GaHay’s big sister (ie his ex). Like I wanted to feel how he felt as an audience and why he left for 7 years (but I kinda understand why this wasn’t shown as it would’ve made Stan and GaHay’s relationship weirder). Also Stan never visited her grave that’s kinda sad.

A back story of how GoOn’s little sis would be nice too. She’s one of the main characters yet gets no past story only a past involving her bro. – also her and Fred’s character getting together came out of nowhere no chemistry whatsoever.

    1. @oligodendrocytes I know. It’s just another stupid series. I actually didn’t like any of the characters besides Selena & Gabriel Harrison. They are the only cuter pair that was actually nice to see and refreshing. All others were so bad and I thought they were killing off Rebecca’s character at the end of epi 29 but she survived. ahaha Phew!! I didn’t get the so called foster brother who killed for his foster sister even thou he loved her so very much. Weird! King & Queen absolutely zero chemistry. I don’t like Rebecca Zhu but I thought she was ok pairing up w/Shaun Tam in the Stunt series. So cliche and bad and esp those sunglasses whenever they go on those new cases. All in all if not for self q and stuck at home I wouldn’t have bothered or wasted my time.

  3. They focus too much on the relationships of the characters in each cases instead of using that time to elaborate the relationships between the main cast.

I remember feeling really odd when watching Michelle Yim and Patrick Tse’s scenes… like all those flashbacks and diaologues don’t add much to the story, yet it took like 1/3 of the episodes. Maybe because they are famous guest stars so they need to give them screen time. But I’d rather have the main cast more fleshed out.

Look at FH1, they used mostly kelefe for the case characters, so they can focus on the “how” instead of the “why”. Also, each of a the cast has their own story line (Bobby and his wife case, Yoyo and how she deals with the subordinates, Florence and the infidelity of her husband, Frankie and Linda).

I wonder if the cutting of Jacqueline’s scenes contributed to that, but the last scene between Ko-On and Tsui Yee was weird… the last time they saw each other was as friends, how did they jump to lovers so quick. Ko-On was so so in love with Monique, it just doesn’t make any sense.

I really miss the old screenwriters at TVB, these new series just don’t have any substance.

  4. The series was total crap and the last couple of episodes was typical predictable rubbish. Yeung Chiu Hoi was the best actor in the series. The only interesting relationship was Sean’s character and his sister….

  5. Everyone had a happy ending but i really did not get how Ko On and Tsui Yi jumped from friends to lovers. They really brought back Monique just to encourage them to consider each other what… and why was Tsui Yi already expecting a ring? I? What?
There was actually so many loose ends with Tsui Yi’s character – basically post-Ko On’s breakup she disappeared which makes no sense as that would be the only time they could actually develop since Ko On and Monique were like, super in love with each other before that. I guess these were the scenes that were cut in reshooting but isn’t a great choice.
Other loose ends was why there was never a scene between Tsui Yi and Emma. Tsui Yi’s whole story is her guilt and regret, she should’ve had an apology scene or something? And why was she even a bridesmaid for Queen and not Monique? Like she was only a tenant for King Sir, barely interacted with Queen?? What?

  6. Raymond Wong is good in some of his previous roles…but definitely not suitable as senior forensic pathologist.

Between Bobby, Wayne and Raymond, i definitely love Bobby as the main lead for the FH franchise. He has really set a high standard for this leading role.
