Rene Liu Performs at New York’s Lincoln Center on October 10

Twenty years in the entertainment industry allowed Rene Liu (劉若英) to carve a long list of achievements in music, films, and television dramas. Although slowing down to enjoy bonding moments with her infant son in the first half of the year, Rene is now ready to return to her music roots. Currently on her Renext World Tour, Rene will be performing in New York on October 10, followed by other cities in the United States.

The 46-year-old mother does not mind traveling across the globe for her latest world tour and the temporary separation from her son. Believing that achieving the right work-life balance is key, Rene said, “At this stage, there are choices between happiness and joy, work and life. It depends on whether you realize you can choose and whether you possess the courage to make the right choices. I choose what I want to do, so I have courage.”

To prevent lengthy separation from her family, Rene chose not to accept any movie projects at this time. Although her world tour started last month, Rene found time to fly back to Taiwan to see her son even if there were only one to two days of rest between stops on her concert itinerary. Rene said, “After becoming a mother, it’s been tiring as I have to work at the same time! My lifestyle and emotions have also changed dramatically. This has affected my perspective while creating [music].”

Returning to the concert stage after a four-year hiatus, Rene’s shows in China quickly sold out. North American fans can catch Rene performing at Lincoln Center in New York on October 10, the San Jose State Event Center on October 17, and the LA Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on October 18 before she continues her world tour in China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan through May next year.
