Richard Li Issues Public Statement: “Isabella Leong Is Not a Gold Digger!”
Since 22-year-old Isabella Leong Lok Chi issued a public statement announcing her split from billionaire, Richard Li, on February 26th, rumors speculated that their relationship was ruined by a third party. In addition, tabloids claimed that Isabella received billions in break-up fees from the Li family. On March 1st, “Little Superman” Richard Li finally broke his silence and issued a public statement to clarify the rumors.
In his public statement, Richard Li noted that he was very sad over the breakup, but will strive to take care of his three sons in the future. As for popular rumors that Isabella Leong received billions in break-up fees, Richard retorted, “Do not link our relationship with money.”
The following was Richard Li’s public statement, issued to the media:
Earlier, Isabella announced the news that we broke up. This is a sad occurrence, but we will strive to take care of our three sons and make sure they grow up under the best environment.
In recent reports about Isabella and I, we were linked to various third parties. The news mentioning the women that I have been linked with were fabricated. They were all false. All references to the billions in “break-up fees” were purely fabricated. They insisted on linking our relationship to money; was there an ulterior motive to do so? I will not respond to any absurd and inaccurate reports. I am here to urge the media to exercise restraint, especially in an objective and professionally ethical manner. In order to protect my entire family’s feelings, I will resort to legal proceedings if necessary.
We understand that the outside world is concerned about us, but this is a painful and private matter. I hope that the outside world understands and respects this.

Jayne: Richard Li still sounds protective over Isabella Leong. His public statement seems to breaking news that she did not take money, other than two properties, from the Li family.
Anyhow, Mr. Li seemed extremely offended that people summarized his relationship with Isabella as purely money. True, feelings are hurt. Children are involved. There’s sometimes more to relationships than just money, or pure gain.

Pandamao, tried my best. I find Richard honorable in stepping out to defend Isabella’s reputation. He really didn’t have to do that, unless he still cared for her.
He didn’t say ” “Isabella Leong Is Not a Gold Digger!” Rather he said money is not an issue. Good to know he is defending her, because that can be a beneficial reference to her when she sues him for whatever.
Funn, I took a little liberty in the title of the article. Those were not his exact words, but the thought is similar.

Well, I think money is a part of any relationship/marriage, BUT the most important thing is that it should not be the only thing… I have a feeling that they did love each other, but their opposing views and many other complications just caused their relationship to end…However, I think that they should give each other another chance since they have 3 sons together.
I’m sure that money was a factor when isabella dated Richard Li… but probably not the ONLY factor. Either way, at least they are parting in a amicable and respectful manner, keeping their son’s interest best at heart!

Sadly it seemed that the relationship didn’t work out, but with this public statement, it seems as if he really cares/cared for her.
I am sure that he does care for her. And considering the reputation of the Li’s in HK, they would not want Isabella to have a bad reputation since she is the mother’s of the three boys, who are directly linked to the Li’s. what he is was very politically correct and his threat will shut the public from written further rubbish about them since he will take legal action if they persist and financially, he is powered to do so.

how come i never see most stars marrying an average joe/jane ? I hate to play a devil’s advocate but seriously, Isabella is a gold digger. This statement doesn’t mean anything!
1) How many man can stand his woman making more than him and has better career than him? Does an average joe dare to woo these actresses?
2) If you have a choice of a drop dead gorgeous girl and average jane loving you, who will you most likely choose? (given that other qualities are the same)
3) Unlike us average janes, stars are mostly surrounded by people of the circle or affluent people. Of course, they will most likely marry those people.
Average janes and joes should stop being a sour grape because they have no chance with these stars.

I’m sure that not only actresses are gold diggers but our average girls as well. But not all of them only some are gold diggers. So you can’t say they are until you know them. But honestly who wouldn’t want to marry a powerful, rich man? I’ll be sitting home everyday or traveling the world with him. That’s what’s called life but I’m not dating any rich guys because it wouldn’t be a happy ending anyways. They’ll have other woman and I’m sure guys love to go after rich ladies. They’re humans after all. Who likes to work? I think in their relationship they both love each other or else they wouldn’t have kids together it’s probably the father that won’t allow him to marry her. He’s got his reasons. If Isabella can have kids with Richard I’m sure other top notch girls would as well. It’s just their age gap that makes ppl think she’s a goldigger. Who isn’t honestly? Don’t say you’re not!
If she is a golddigger, yes she has loads of money but she isn’t very successful because the ultimate goal is to marry into the rich family, be a socialite and attain a social status unlike another. So to me she failed miserable, but let’s just say she is well compensated.

Nothing to do with age gap. She can be 40 and still be branded one. Gold digging is not about age but about status; no one would call a 18 year old daughter of an equally or somewhat lesser rich man’s daughter a gold digger.
