Robbery at Aaron Kwok’s Residential Complex
Aaron Kwok (郭富城) had a near brush with crime, as robbery at the star’s residential complex was reported this week.
The Hong Kong superstar lives in the luxury complex, Carrie Garden on Tai Hang Road, with his wife Moka Fang (方媛) and their two daughters. He also rented an apartment on the first floor for his in-laws as well. It is said that Aaron owns the entire seventh floor and rooftop unit, which includes a private movie theater and karaoke room. Carrie Garden also offers a basketball court and swimming pool amenities, which were loved and frequently utilized by Aaron’s family.
The complex is also home to other celebrity tenants including Chrissie Chau (周秀娜) and Dickson Yu (余德丞). Despite the building’s exclusive address and usual safety in surrounding areas, residents were alarmed by the robbery that occurred on premises.
Earlier this week at 5 a.m., tenants in the lower-level units had called the police about a break-in after discovering the front door unlocked and the windows open. Their domestic helper had encountered the thief who immediately ran away. After reviewing the CCTV footage, police suspect that the thief had climbed up the drainage system and through a window into the building. Three of the apartments had signs of forced entry, and one tenant reported losing $500 Hong Kong dollars in cash.
As Aaron’s rooftop unit is currently undergoing renovations, he had temporarily moved into his in-law’s unit, which is on the same floor as the apartments that were robbed. At the time of the break in, Aaron was sleeping at home. His father-in-law is currently assisting in the investigation but luckily his in-law’s unit had no signs of loss or forced entry.
