Roxanne Tong Doesn’t Yearn to Be a Mother

Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯) and Telford Wong (黃庭鋒) are currently filming for OPM (Other People’s Money), and discussed their roles in the upcoming TVB drama.

Playing a mother with a 5-year-old son, Roxanne revealed, “My character was lied to by Stephen Wong (黃嘉樂) during university, and becomes pregnant.” Acting with children requires patience, but Roxanne praised the child actor who plays her son for his good memory in remembering his lines.

“In the past, I was scared of children but now many of my friends are parents so I’m used to them. The feeling may be different when I actually become a mother, but I’m not looking forward to it because it’s a big burden. I’m scared that they’ll become a mini me! Haha!” Roxanne admitted.

Revealing that she has many grocery shopping scenes in the drama, Roxanne recalled that she had cooked a lot during her university years in London. Able to handle most everyday meals, she shared that boyfriend, Kenneth Ma (馬國明), has tried her cooking and likes it. “I don’t know if he said that on purpose to make me happy! However, our standards are pretty low and we’re easily satisfied!”

Since this is Telford’s first time in a lead role, it took him two months of filming to truly immerse into his character. After his first day at work, he was so stressed that he immediately jumped into bed and fell into a “coma.” As filming went on, he felt less burdened by the different emotional scenes and started to enjoy the process. His character had originally wanted to help others, but he takes on a cheating side later on.

At the day of the reporter’s visit, Telford was filming a scene where he was giving a speech completely in English. As he had previously hosted a show on TVB Pearl in English, he was up for the challenge. “This is my first time filming a drama scene in English, and there were many biology terms. I used two hours to remember everything! I had practice from filming Dolce Vita <港生活‧港享受>, so I was able to handle it.”
