Ruby Lin Returns for Upcoming Taiwanese Drama!
Taiwanese star Ruby Lin (林心如) is making a full comeback! The 41-year-old producer-actress took a maternity break after giving birth to her daughter “Little Dolphin” back in January, and after four months of rest, the actress is ready to be back in full force.
Wearing a deep-V black dress and looking as fit as ever before, Ruby showed up at a press conference for her new Taiwanese drama My Dear Boy <我的男孩>, which she is also producing. Ruby’s postpartum slim down looks to be a success, but the actress is still not completely satisfied yet. “I still have about 2 kg (about 4.4 lbs) to go,” she said.
One of Ruby’s comeback requirements after having her baby daughter is to be able to stay at home, which is the reason why she chose to do her comeback in a Taiwanese drama. “I want to be able to go home everyday after work,” she said. “I can maybe afford to leave the house for four to five days.”
Starring alongside Ruby in My Dear Boy is American actor Archie Kao (高聖遠), husband of Zhou Xun (周迅), who leads in the upcoming Chinese epic Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace <如懿傳> alongside Ruby’s husband Wallace Huo (霍建華). It was Ruby who recommended him to the team.
As Archie is not very fluent in Chinese, the script will be translated into English for him. After studying the script in English, he will memorize his dialogue in pinyin. Asking if he has had any embarrassing moments due to the language barrier, Archie said, “Practically every day!”
Derek Chang (張軒睿) and Lee Lee-zen (李李仁) will also star in the series as main roles.
