Sammi Cheng Swaps Couture for Apron in Preparation to be Good Wife

Sammi Cheng (鄭秀文) and Andy Hui (許志安) have been enjoying a loving relationship since their reconciliation two years ago. Often spotted on dinner dates, the couple has been going on holiday, feeding rumors that they are busy preparing for their grand wedding overseas. Sammi has recently turned into an ardent chef, often posting photographs of her cooking on Weibo, leading to speculations that she is ready to hang up her stylish wear to be a good wife.

An Old Couple

Earlier, Sammi and Andy were spotted on their everyday routine. Andy came by in his Mercedes Benz C63 at around 5 p.m. to pick up Sammi at her Jardine’s Lookout apartment. After dinner, the couple headed to a nearby supermarket and stocked up on two huge bags of groceries. The couple looked just like any other married couple. Even the usually well-styled Sammi was simply clad in loose clothing and black-framed glasses, without a smidgen of makeup on her face. When she noticed the reporters, she was initially horrified and tried to cover her face. Eventually, Sammi waved and smiled at them. Andy, on the other hand, was visibly displeased with the reporters and ignored them.

Since reconciling, Sammi and Andy have decreased their work to spend more time together, while leading a more laid-back lifestyle. To spend more time together, Sammi even moved out of her family’s house and lived by herself. Sammi has been spending time in the kitchen more than onstage. She regularly posting impressive photographs of her cooking on the Internet. Not only can she cook up a scrumptious Chinese meal, she has also learnt to prepare Indian and Italian cuisines. On the other hand, Andy has also embraced Sammi’s faith and became baptized last year in September.

Speculations of Wedding

Sammi and Andy’s stable relationship lead to frequent speculations that they are ready to settle down. One report stated that the couple has been attending pre-marital classes. The recent word is that the couple is planning for their dream wedding in Karuizawa before they head back to Hong Kong for another reception.

Renown feng shui masters, Mak Ling Ling (麥玲玲) and Au Sung Tak (區仲德), also pointed out that this is a good year for Sammi and Andy to get married. Whether it is a grand event or a secret quiet wedding, both will benefit from a wedding held this year. Mak Ling Ling added if Sammi fails to give birth this year, she may have difficulty conceiving in the following years.
