Sharon Chan Launches Blessing Cookies
After getting married in Bali, Indonesia in October, Sharon Chan (陳敏之) recently achieved another milestone and became a businesswoman. Planning for a year and investing a seven-figure sum, Sharon opened her new cookie business, Blesscuit.
For the official business launch celebration, Sharon invited many artistes and close friends, including former TVB executive Stephen Chan (陳志雲); Christine Ng (伍詠薇); Roger Kwok (郭晉安) and his wife Cindy Au (歐倩怡); Jazz Lam (林子善); and Janet Chow (周家蔚). Good friend Sammy Leung (森美) also acted as MC for the day. The launching event attracted hundreds of fans that swarmed around the shop, eagerly waiting to take pictures of Sharon.
Having spent the year planning her wedding and new business, Sharon said she was very thankful to have her husband be her mentor. Sharon expressed, “Since I love eating cookies, my main goal is to send out positive energy into the world. My company’s name is Blesscuit because it means to be blessed. The cookies come with blessing cards so that people who receive them will feel the love from us.”
Sharon and her husband, William Lui (雷偉信), will prioritize their work for now and postpone plans to have a baby. Sharon said, “I want to become my own boss first. I put a lot of energy into this; I want to focus and put more effort into it. No [my husband isn’t angry], he loves cookies and he praised them after trying. I do [make them myself] because I need to learn first before understanding what ingredients the chef uses. Baking cookies is fun.”
Sharon is grateful that local shop owners were supportive of her new business launch although the event blocked the entire road. Confident that Blesscuit is going to do well, Sharon plans to open a second location next year. “Even before we opened, we already had a lot of orders. My friends went crazy and bought hundreds and hundreds – I hope they can become a souvenir of Hong Kong.”
In regards to her business competing directly with Eric Tsang’s (曾志偉) bakery, Sharon responded, “No one can take Eric’s spot. The cookies they sell are different. It’s good if everyone does well. I can represent the cookie industry and become the Cookie Queen.”
To promote her business prior to its grand opening, Sharon sent gift boxes of cookies to her friends, allowing them to sample the product first.

Instead of fortune cookies, we now have Sharon’s blessing cookies! I think it’s especially a good gift, as the gift can be delicious and meaningful.
Sharon appears to have promoted her new business well, sending out sample cookie boxes to her artiste friends and presumably the media as well to tell them about the opening prior to the event. Lots of reporters at the grand opening.
Wow!! Good for Sharon’s blessing cookies!!!
Who’s that chef standing behind Sharon? He looks familiar but i can’t recalled his name.
Veejay,
It looks like former TVB General Manager, Stephen Chan, who has a close friendship with Sharon.
I like her business approach and idea. Really well put together.
Sharon looks youthful and cute in the above pics. And Sonjia is beautiful.
