Shiga Lin Wants to Matchmake Daughter with Benjamin Yuen’s Son

Recently appearing on YouTube talkshow Sisters Talk <絲打圍佬>, Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪) and wife Bowie Cheung (張寶兒) shared the joys of parenthood, and discussed their experiences of raising their baby with hosts Harriet Yeung (楊詩敏) and Shiga Lin (連詩雅)!

Benjamin Records Silent Birth Video By Mistake

When it came to the topic of division of labor in their household, Benjamin Yuen openly stated, “We have a clear division of labor. When one of us is speaking, the other will step back. We need to have this kind of tacit understanding.” Benjamin added that he was mainly in charge of playing with the baby.

As Shiga revealed during the filming of the program that she was expecting a baby girl, Camila, she spontaneously proposed a “matchmaking” idea to Benjamin and Bowie. “I’ve already decided on a match for my daughter. I want to match them, and we’re already setting them up!” Bowie Cheung laughed and said, “If I had known, I would have brought my son (Benjamin Junior).” Shiga Lin disclosed that her daughter and their child are only a few months apart in age and joked, “They can be playmates first, and then develop their relationship as they grow older.”

Talking about the moment their son was born, Benjamin Yuen shared that he will frequently rewatch the video footage of the day Bowie gave birth which he pinned on his IG account. Describing himself as “very busy” on the day of the delivery, he shared, “I was worried that the video wouldn’t capture everything, and I had to ensure safety measures like wearing a cap. When I entered the delivery room to accompany my wife, the doctor said the anesthesia was starting to take effect, so I could go in and be with her,”

 

“When the doctor raised the cloth, and it was just the two of us behind it. I thought I was recording, but I had mistakenly set the camera to slow motion at 50 frames per second, and there was no sound. So, the entire video ended up being silent,” shared Benjamin, with the set breaking out in laughter.

Bowie Cheung lost weight through Pilates and intermittent fasting

Discussing the changes she experienced during pregnancy, Bowie said, “When I was pregnant, my waist became thicker. I asked my friends, who said it might be because of the pregnancy, as the body naturally gains fat to stabilize the baby. I felt like I lost my waistline,”

As for her slimming secrets, she said, “After giving birth, I had to breastfeed for a while, which burned a lot of fat. Plus, taking care of the baby and not getting enough sleep naturally made me lose weight. There was a period when I weighed 55kg, and I maintained that for about two or three months. After that, I relied on doing Pilates and a bit of intermittent fasting.” She joked that the main reason for her weight gain was eating too richly during her postpartum confinement, revealing, “At that time, I usually ate six meals a day, more than a normal person.”

Carlos Chan Changes his Daughter’s Nickname

Shiga Lin revealed that she and her husband Carlos Chan actively discussed the nickname for their baby girl. She said, “We actually thought of one together. My husband wanted to call her ‘Chan Set,’ because when he was filming a show, he said he wanted his child’s name to be ‘Chan Set (meaning furnishing)’ with the English name Deco. He thought it sounded cool, but I vetoed it.” She finally decided with her husband to call their baby girl “Chan Bobo”.
