Shirley Yeung Retains Silence Over Pregnancy Rumors
Since unilaterally announcing her break-up from Gregory Lee (李泳豪), Shirley Yeung (楊思琦) allegedly had a new romantic interest. Some rumors claimed that the man was a heir of a wealthy mainland family, while other rumors claimed that Shirley’s new romantic interest was her old classmate. In addition, Shirley was reportedly two months pregnant. Yesterday, Gregory continued to go to work at TVB City while extremely troubled by the recent turn of events in his love life. Yesterday, Shirley refused to comment on reporters’ inquiries about her alleged pregnancy.
Without the need to work yesterday, Shirley was spotted in her neighborhood of Clear Water Bay Peninsula. Her mother was in the car with Shirley. In an attempt to lose the reporter’s tailgate, she raced her car forward. She disembarked in Tsim Sha Tsui and went in separate directions from her mother. Wearing flat shoes, a loose jacket, and sunglasses, Shirley appeared tired. Her face was covered with pimples. However, Shirley maintained her smile. When the reporter noted that her car driving skills were lightning quick, she said, “Similar to your driving!” Asked about her pregnancy, Shirley’s smile disappeared and she did not respond. She just cautioned the reporter to be careful of other cars nearby. She entered a commercial building and remained there through the evening. The building had a herbalist and beauty salon inside.
Gregory Continued to Be Disheartened
Gregory continued to be in depressed spirits while filming The King Boxer <拳王>. He indicated he has not been able to contact Shirley. Due to many issues troubling him, he has been unable to sleep. Despite Shirley’s unwavering decision to break-up, Gregory still loved her and was very protective towards her. He was worried about Shirley and did not wish to comment on her pregnancy rumors. When reporters asked whether Gregory knew about Shirley’s rumored romantic interest, a rich heir or her old classmate, he lowered his head and signed without responding.
Did Gregory still love Shirley? “Of course I still love her. If you have approached the marrying stage with a woman, it is impossible to change your feelings in a few days. I really want to talk to her. I am afraid she is thinking crazy thoughts. Perhaps the situation is not the way she perceives it. Whatever happens in the future, I will always help her.”
Did Gregory receive Shirley’s text message that she still loved him? He nodded his head and believed that people do not suddenly lose love feelings for each other. As a result, Gregory wanted to find out clearly whether Shirley’s break-up decision was influenced by another person or something she heard. Gregory’s Mother Pleads for the Truth
Gregory’s mother, Shi Ming (施明), admitted that she was very concerned about her son’s situation. In the past, she never saw her [grown] twin sons hugging each other. Although Shi Ming spoke with Gregory and heard [many speculations], she noted that a love relationship was between two people. If she were to add her opinion, she may make Gregory feel worse.
Whether the recent rumors were true or false, Shi Ming wished that Shirley will address the situation herself before the media. She should not let other people speak for her. Due to the quick turn of events, Shi Ming noted that she was quite stunned and it was difficult for her to accept the situation at this time.

Good translation. This is exact what I get from the news when I read it. Shirley still remains silent about whether she pregnant or not. She not deny it and she certainly not admit it. I do not know why the other person in the other news say that she “deny” it, LOL!!! This article clearly said she remains silent on the pregnancy question.
From the photos, those men around her wear Tshirt, that means it cannot be cold outside. But she wear this black sweather/jacket, maybe she have a cold, but during this summer time, not likely people will dress like that.
When celebrities remain silent, it is likely to be true. I remember there are celebrities in the past not answer the pregnancy question and it turns out that they are pregnant.
Couple months goes by fast, then we all know the truth if Shirley indeed pregnant of not.

Plenty of reporters will definitely be there so if she is indeed pregnant, there is a low possibility that she can hide her baby bump from them!

And just wondering, can’t Gregory excuse himself from this acting assignment or was he bonded by contractual obligations? Or is this a deliberate attempt on his part to raise his profile to the public and gain sympathy from them? Because if he is going to be working everyday, you can bet that the reporters will be stationed at TVB City and hound him to no end. Plus it doesn’t help that Shirley remains mum to everything.
And since Gregory can’t contact Shirley, maybe he should consider just make a trip down to Shirley’s house to confront the whole truth out of her? Shirley definitely owes him and his family a valid explanation to keep them from speculating.
Yes, the truth may be devastating to Gregory but at least it will set him free and probably enable him to move on with life.

I agree with you as well and think that Gregory should just come and see Shirley at her house. She really needs to explain to him and his family about everything. It is true that the truth hurts, but I feel that no matter how much it hurts, he needs to know so that he can move on with his life… It is not healthy for him to be all sad and depressed over someone that is no longer with him.
Totally agree with you LeilaFan! This is the same pattern that other pregnant artists have gone through. I also think that if an artist stays silent for certain issues, it means that it is true. But we will find out in a few months time if she is indeed pregnant or not. Time will tell… I have a good feeling that she is.
First, of all, I don’t blame her for dumping him, he has no ambition and seems like someone who would weep in order to get sympathy! There must me a legit reason for her to dump him. She probably tried many times to d so but in the end he always ends up making her feel guilty over the yrs. For him and his family to give a statement is uncalled for since the truth will unravel without him pulling the “I have no clue and is deeply hurt” tactic. The way he became so defensive at the hint of mention of the breakup is due to his car racing lets ppl see another side of him.
For him to mention that she told him she was pregnant was the excuse she gave him for the breakup was pretty conniving of him to try to score on the more pts on the sympathy card. A noble and honorable man would keep quiet and not even said anything that would embarrass someone who he claims he loves so much. It’s pathetic how he went about to handle the breakup.
She may have sent him texts that she still loves him but not the way him and his family portrayed it out to be. If she had ‘outgrown him’ or had fallen out of love w/ him then she should have broken it off completely b4 finding another bf… it doesn’t matter if he begs her to stay w/ him – she needs to say NO if she wants to move on. But yes, I think that Shirley is a smart girl and whatever she decides, it’s for the good of her and her baby. In the end, you want a husband that is able to support you and your children w/o the help of your parents-in-law.

You bought up some good points but I don’t really agree with you. Even IF Gregory did play the sympathy card in order to get more points, I think he has the right to since she is the one that really hurt him. First of all, IF she thought that he was that insensitive, classless or whatever, then why did she date such a guy for 9 years and nearly married him?? She must not be able to judge someone’s character very well then.
I also think that if she liked someone else, then she should have ended the relationship with Gregory first BEFORE getting with someone else and even possibly being pregant with that guy’s baby. That is just wrong… I don’t find anything wrong with him saying that that was what happened since he was really hurt. It is hard to keep quiet on that. Also, people will find out sooner or later… He has the right to open up or else he may explode or even worse, commit suicide if he keeps everything bottled up inside.
About Gregory’s dad, I admit that he may be really outspoken and too straight forward, however, that does NOT mean that he is a bad person. His son and family just got hurt, how can you be really calm in a situation like this?? Each person reacts differently to different things and this is how his dad chooses to react because that is his personality. At least he is a good father that cares deeply about his son who has been hurt. If others were in his shoes, I wonder if they can be really calm and quiet??

Most likely she is pregnant. As Jayne mentioned, if she wasn’t, wouldn’t she just say “no” and end it there? The fact that she remains silent just leaves so much room for speculations! I have a feeling if she was pregnant, then she is breaking up with Gregory because she has to, not because she doesn’t love him anymore. Very sad. I hope someone will clarify this matter soon. I guess only Shirley can do that now because even Gregory is confused as to what the real reason for breakup was.
I don’t really agree that she only broke up with him because she is pregnant only. First of all, if she just loved him and only him, then why get pregnant with someone else when she was going to marry him? Unless she did it on purpose just so she can have a more legitimate reason to leave him. But then again, I guess only she will know it and I don’t think she will tell everyone the real reason why she dumped him.
The pregnancy may not be the only reason for their breakup, but I think its a major factor which led her to decide who to be with at the end. I think she is wrong and unfaithful for cheating on him and sleeping with another man, but I think some people mentioned in a previous article that they would rather catch them in bed rather than get pregnant with another man’s child. Because it is easier for them to forget or forgive of they just cheated on them, but will be unacceptable if they have another person’s child. It will be too hard to accept and forget. If Shirley did cheat, she may have had the choice to go back to Gregory if he was able forgive her and she realized that in the end she loves him the most afterall. But now if she is pregnant, I don’t think she has a choice anymore even if she still love him.

By her keeping silence, its pretty much saying she is pregnant. If she wasn’t, she could have easily said “No” and everything would be done. But in a couple of months we will see. Can’t hide a bump for long if its true.

I get the impression most people who say ‘there is no right and wrong in love’ are confusing two things. Yes while there is strictly nothing ‘wrong’ in who you fancy, there can be, however, something ‘wrong’ with the way you go about it (e.g. who you affect, what you do to realise your feelings).

I agree with you. When you single, you can do anything your ways. But when you are in a long term relationship, engage, married you cannot be selfish like when you single.

So far, Raymond’s bed photo scandal, Bosco Wong’s nude photo, Shirley’s break-up and possible pregnancy, and Nic and Cecilia’s divorce crisis have received the most hits. Comments wise likely Cecilia and Nic’s articles, since the number of articles covered on this topic has been the most. I didn’t look at the statistics closely.
IMO, I found Nic and Cecilia’s divorce crisis to be very dramatic, so many twists and turns. Yet their relationship problems are so relatable to normal married couples. It is quite heart wrenching to know that in possibly a few weeks, the pair will sign divorce papers.
Shirley and Gregory’s break-up and possible pregnancy are very controversial topics. Due to Greg’s deep love and obvious grief, it is very emotionally heart wrenching to see this unfold before the news everyday. Based on Greg’s response so far, it will take him a long time to heal. I don’t think their is reconcilation here either. Shirley seems to have moved on.

Hehe, yes make up can eat your skin, even with the most expensive make up cannot guarantee it won’t ruin your skin.
That is why I never wear make up powder. This actually helps, it keeps my skin healthy and young looking. Looking natural is always better. Too much make up when you take it off, you won’t look good.

I think how he reacts is normal, shows he is human. He suffered a terrible betrayal, and for a man, nothing is worse than to find out during preparation for a wedding after NINE years of relationship not suspecting anything and your girlfriend turns up pregnant and not by you. If it was a woman, I am sure she would have either throw herself off the building or cut the other woman’s hair, so to speak.
