Was it a well-timed move to distract from Show’s return to Taipei?

Taiwanese artiste Show Lo’s (羅志祥) cheating scandal had aroused fervent public backlash, until the recent revelation of Gillian Chung (鍾欣潼) and Michael Lai’s (弘國驚) shocking divorce shifted the attention away. The timing of the revelation has led to speculation that it may even have been Show’s manager who leaked the split to the press.

Coincidence or Not?

On May 9, an insider spilled that Michael had coincidentally met Show’s manager Xiao Shuang (小霜) at a hotpot restaurant, where he told her about his divorce. The next day, news of Gillian and Michael’s divorce surfaced, while Show successfully made his return to Taiwan from Shenzhen, China. This raised suspicions that the revelation of the divorce had been timed to divert the public eye away from Show.

Show was rumored to have been dropped from yet another Chinese variety program, the third season of Street Dance of China <這! 就是街舞>, as his name was missing from the show’s instructor list though he had been involved in the first two seasons. There was also news that he would be replaced by Wallace Chung (鍾漢良), who started out as a dancer and had reportedly been at odds with Show.
