Simu Liu Joins the Cast of “Barbie” Alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling
Following the success of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Chinese-Canadian actor Simu Liu is in talks to star in the upcoming live-action film Barbie alongside Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera.
While little details have been released, fans are excited that Simu’s career is gaining traction as he stars in another high-profile film. In the movie, Margie is confirmed to play the titular character Barbie while Ryan is set to play Ken. The characters played by Simu and America are not disclosed at this time.
The film is helmed by director Greta Gerwig, whose prior works include Nights and Weekends and Lady Bird. Filming is set to begin later this year with an expected released date in 2023.
