Sisley Choi Stars in Stephen Chow’s “Shaolin Soccer” Remake

Stephen Chow (周星馳) has produced many classic films in the 1990s and 2000s. One of his most notable works is 2001’s Shaolin Soccer <少林足球>. Last year, Stephen announced his intention to produce a female-centered remake of Shaolin Soccer.
Recruiting for actresses, Stephen declared four requirements for casting selections. “[The actress] must be young and beautiful, possess a good figure, be naturally smart and quick-witted, and be physically fit.” After his announcement, many actresses expressed interest in auditioning for a role, including Sisley Choi (蔡思貝), Rosita Kwok (郭柏妍), and Carman Kwan (關嘉敏).
Filming commenced earlier last month. Although the confirmed cast has been kept under wraps, it was recently revealed Sisley made the cut to star in the movie. In addition, Zhang Xiaofei (張小斐), Lay Zhang Yixing (張藝興), and Dilraba Dilmurat (迪麗熱巴) were spotted filming scenes for the new movie, although their roles and screentime were unknown.
Serving as both director and screenwriter for the upcoming film, Stephen has been very hands on with the filming process. Since Stephen often acted out the scenes himself to showing the actors how he envisioned the scene, rumors began circulating that Stephen may even make a rare cameo appearance, much the excitement of fans.

How creatively bankrupt must you be to rip off one of your own most internationally famous movies?
Agreed, and to prop it up by making it all females too, I mean nothing wrong with that…but remember Ghostbusters…
NOOO… by choosing her, that mean your movie will be trash… That why Movie industry is dead, by making wrong decision… Goodluck to Stephen Chow
