Song Joong Ki Confirmed for New Romantic Drama “My Youth”
On August 21, HighZiumStudio announce the production of a new romantic drama My Youth <마이 유스>, starring Korean stars Song Joong-ki and Chun Woo-hee!
First-time Romantic Pairing
My Youth tells the romance between Sun Woo-hae, who starts living an ordinary life later than most, and Sung Je-yeon, who must disrupt her first love’s tranquility to achieve success. The two characters, who supported each other during the darkest times of their lives, reunite after a decade, and starts creating new beautiful moments together.
Song Joong-ki plays the role of novelist and florist Sun Woo-hae. Once a shining child star, he lost his light due to the avarice of adults, and was forgotten by the public. While starting a new chapter of his life, he encounters Sung Je-yeon, who holds the key to his past, reminding him the reasons for living that he has forgotten. Following his roles in Reborn Rich, the films Bogota: City of the Lost and Hopeless, and his special appearances in Queen of Tears and My Name is Loh Rokiwan, fans are eagerly anticipating what new charm the star will bring to his latest small-screen appearance!
Chun Woo-hee plays the role of Feel Entertainment’s company team leader Sung Ji-yeon, who is forced by reality to pursue only success. Although she grew up in a wealthy family without worries, her life became tougher after her family’s sudden downfall. To achieve her goals, she finds Sun Woo-hae and disturbs his peaceful life, but as she spends more time with him, Sung Ji-yeon starts to confront her own pure, past self.
Actress Chun Woo-hee has had a few fine performances this year, finding her meeting point with characters in Netflix’s The Atypical Family and The 8 Show, naturally making fans eager for her upcoming new drama.
My Youth is directed by Lee Sang-yeob of Yumi’s Cells, and penned by hit drama Run On‘s scriptwriter Park Si-hyun, with plans to air next year.
