Song Kang to Fulfill Military Service in April

South Korean actor Song Kang’s stardom received a significant boost through Netflix after starring in Love Alarm, Sweet Home, Navillera, Nevertheless, and Forecasting Love and Weather. His most recent fantasy romance drama, My Demon, in which he starred opposite Kim Yoo Jung, aired to positive reception and further boosted his global popularity.

Despite his rising career, the 29-year-old actor will be taking a hiatus to fulfill his mandatory military service. Making the announcement through his agency, Song Kang will begin his military service in April 2. As his birthday is on April 23, he will be spending his birthday in the military. With the service term of 18 months, the actor is expected to be discharged in October 2025.

Prior to his departure, Song Kang completed filming the third season of Sweet Home. The drama is expected to be released sometime this year. The strategic move will reduce Song Kang’s absence from the small screen and allow his presence to remain familiar with the audience during his leave of absence.
