Sonija Kwok Feels Secure About Her Husband
Happily married to martial arts instructor Zhu Shaojie (朱少杰) since 2011, former Miss HK and actress Sonijia Kwok (郭羨妮) gave birth to her daughter Kylie (朱家愛) the following year, and retreated from the showbiz limelight to focus on her family caregiver duties.
Praises Hubby for Giving Her a Sense of Security
Celebrating her 50th birthday recently, Sonija wrote in English on her social pages, “Wish me happy birthday. I’ve never thought about how it’d be like to be over 50, now I know. The world is still very beautiful. I might not be as pretty as when I’m young but it’s okay. I am still me.”
Sharing a video of her family of three vacationing in Maldives, Sonjia looks in great shape with porcelain skin despite stepping into her fifties, while her hubby Zhu Shaojie looks to put on weight in his middle age.
Sonjia had previously shared her love story with celebrity host Wong Manling (汪曼玲) on the program Star Chatroom <星級會客室>. The two had developed romantic sparks when filming in Hengdian years back.
Despite Zhu Shaojie’s frequent travelling for work, she maintains complete trust in him, and the couple has found a way to make things work. She said, “We stay in touch everyday and will also video-call, he will send me a reassuring message before heading to Hong Kong, and will “meet” with me and my daughter, so the problem is not big, it’s better to meet less than to meet more, I’ve gotten use to this, after he wraps his filming, I will be very happy, he will be back and then bring me and my daughter to travel to different places,”
Expressing her faith, Sonijia continued, “with my husband, he gives me a big sense of security, I don’t have to worry that he will have affairs outside, I think that’s the biggest concern when a woman looks for a husband, plus we are often apart, so if I’ve to worry, I’d really be very worried!”
