Stephen Chow’s Ex-Girlfriend, Alice Yu, Gets Married
Several of Stephen Chow’s (周星馳) relationships have ended unpleasantly through the years, with Athena Chu (朱茵) alleging that he cheated in their relationship, and businesswoman Alice Yu (于文鳳) suing him for $70 million Hong Kong dollars. With the lawsuit still unresolved, the pair’s former entanglements and their financial dispute has continued to seize news headlines.
Stephen and Alice’s relationship lasted for 10 years, beginning in 2000 and ending in 2010. During that time frame, Alice acted as Stephen’s financial consultant and helped him make profits through real estate investments. In turn, Stephen allegedly agreed to pay Alice a base salary and 10 percent in commissions, the latter terms which the actor denied.
In 2010, Alice announced to the media that she and Stephen had broken up. It was only through the news that Stephen knew of the official end of their relationship, and that Alice had started dating banker Andrew Liu (廖堯城). Though Stephen initially wished Alice well, their relations worsened when they were unable to resolve their financial dispute and she decided to sue him. Stephen spoke of their relationship “slowly turning dull, until we aren’t even friends anymore.”
Despite her unpleasant end with Stephen, Alice’s relationship with Andrew Liu, the third generation of a banking firm and the CEO of the Asia Investment Fund, is progressing well. The couple filed for marriage registration last week. A divorced father, Andrew was previously linked with Carina Lau (劉嘉玲), Loletta Lee (李麗珍), and Mandy Yan (嚴淑明).
