Stephen Huynh Reveals Girlfriend’s Photo and Said He is Not Interested in Older Women
Recent tabloids accused Stephen Huynh (aka Wong Cheung Hing) of dating 63-Year-Old millionaire, Margaret Tsui Mei Kei, for money. Tabloids pointed to Stephen’s investment of $500,000 (HKD) in his new French restaurant, “A La Maison” and alluded that he may have secured the funds from Margaret.
Stephen denied the rumors and said he is only friends with Margaret. “Margaret was my dance partner at a charity event last year. We got along well and she felt that I was a hard-working individual. We kept in touch and she asked me to dance with her in two performances prior to the May 29th charity performance. The arrangements was made through TVB. From partners, we became friends. That’s it! I agree with Margaret’s perspective: you should not discriminate friendship based on race, age, nor background.”
Why did romantic rumors between Stephen and Margaret develop? “We had to meet frequently to practice our dance performances. Sometimes we would meet at dance instructor, Mr. Chow’s, place. Or we would go to ‘Dancin’ Jupiter,’ Margaret’s former dance school (she sold the school earlier). But she still rents the place for private dance practice. The location of my restaurant is on the same block as ‘Dancin’ Jupiter.’ I first learned that this restaurant space was available for leasing from talking with the instructors at ‘Dancin’ Jupiter.’”
“I always wanted to open a French restaurant, but I could not believe how the tabloids twisted the facts. I am angry and exasperated by their recent headlines. The reporters have a job, but the story they framed was terrible! Normally, I will not speak up, but they went too far this time. The men from my home town in Chaozhou believe that the men should pay for the bills. They will not use money from women. I worked hard to earn the investment for the restaurant. Margaret intends to sue the tabloid for libel.”
Stephen currently has a 25-year-old girlfriend named Peggy. They met a mutual friend’s birthday party last year. “That evening, Peggy did not say much, but I was attracted by her. I asked her out to dinner afterwards…. Our friends know that we are dating. Since I am an artist, I try to keep my dating life low-profile. Peggy understands this and we normally don’t hold hands when we go out together. When I practiced dancing with Margaret, I brought Peggy to the dance studio. Peggy is aware of what is going on.”
“Peggy just returned from studying in Canada.We have also met each other’s parents.” (Does that mean wedding bells are near?) “Not yet! I have to work harder first; a man should depend on himself. That’s why I am investing in a French restaurant. I am unafraid of working hard; I just want to provide a better future for my family.”
Allegedly, Peggy comes from a wealthy background. She lives in a multi-million dollar independent house in Sai Kung. “In selecting a girlfriend, I consider her personality and looks. I do not care if she has money or not. It’s okay if the woman is older than me by one or two years, but she can not be older than me by five years! Women have a mature level of thinking and they age faster. I really can not accept a woman who is a lot older than me!”

Jayne: IMO, $500,000 (HKD) is a low-estimate to open a restaurant. There’s the lease, salaries of the kitchen and serving staff, cost of food, other supplies, etc. Coupled with the rental of his own apartment, that’s a heavy monthly cash flow. He probably needs a lot more money than the initial $500,000 to keep the business running for the first year. Maybe there’s a big loan he took out? That sounds like a lot of debt he’s taking on.
This is PR. No bank would loan so much money to someone without a collateral. Anyway why bother him with this? He is free to do whatever he wants however he wants. Of course I will take this news with a pinch of salt. He can have GFs and still you know be best friends with benefits with other people.
You’re right, Funn. The bank loan would be difficult to secure. The numbers don’t make sense. Factoring in his past income from fashion shows etc, along with his apartment rental and living expenses, it’s really difficult to have those savings.
Even if the savings are possible, it’s too expensive to maintain the French restaurant for the first year. Operating monthly cash flow would be too high to maintain.
The location of the restaurant is in North Terrace Point, adjacent of Causeway Bay on the northern tip of Hong Kong Island. The rent would be outrageous here!
He did not mention any partners in the business. It’s impossible to do this without someone’s assistance. Although Peggy comes from a wealthy background, it’s hard to say if she has access to real money, which leaves us wonder about Margaret.
Like Funn said, it’s Stephen’s decision…but just wanted to state the finances don’t make sense if he is the sole owner.

The way I see this new is plain entertaintment. Stephen has the right to his privacy and do what he likes as long as it’s not criminal. In any case, it’s a win win situation if he new is true. He gets what he needs- cha ching, and Margaret gets what she wants – wink wink 🙂
Maybe his parents helped him out?? We don’t know for sure how he got the money. Hopefully he did not do anything bad behind the scenes that we do not know about… I am glad that he came forward and explained everything unlike others who either go silent or just lie through their teeth…
obviously, stephen won’t say who’s involved in the business or his partners. This is his own privacy. It’s already enough that he annouced his GF and his business stuff… what else do you want him to say right? His privacy. give him some space.
Agree that he has his privacy. Maybe he didn’t want to reveal his partners because he didn’t want reporters to bother them. But, these things can be checked and snooped out easily if reporters wanted to.
As for his money.
He has other jobs before he joined TVB. His previous occupation was ‘Retails and Business Director’ (or executive). Maybe he saved money from there? And like HeTieShou said, maybe his family help out. His older brother hold quite a high position in a company. Also, his family was not poor. They started out poor when they migrated to France, but, his father managed to built a business for himself there.

I think the sensational news is not who is the partner of his business but how he got his investment and the gossip is of course he is a gigolo. Plain and simple. Or kept man or toy boy, etc. Frankly none of my business. But it does call into question those in the entertainment business and the work they do.

Uh, I don’t get you. Who his partner is is crucial to the question of how he got his investment or whether he’s a gigolo or not. So, what’s with the ‘the sensational news is not who is the partner of his business but how he got his investment’? That’s all related.
Some here try to give him the benefit of the doubt by postulating that maybe his family helps out or that he has other partners but didn’t want to reveal them in case reporters go and bother them. These are all related to the news. So, I don’t get your line making it as if people who suggested this didn’t understand.
