Stephy Tang and Alex Fong Got Married Secretly in Okinawa?

In order to fulfill Stephy Tang’s (鄧麗欣) dream of getting married before she turns 30, Alex Fong (方力申) and she got married secretly in Okinawa. Witnessed by only their closest friends, it was said that even Alex’s parents were not invited.

It is alleged the couple, together with some of their closest friends, flew into Okinawa last month for a secret and quiet wedding reception. This should not come as a surprise as Stephy once expressed her wish to have a private wedding, just like Ekin Cheng’s (郑伊健) wedding.In order to placate his parents who did not attend, Alex intends to hold another wedding reception at the end of the year for his relatives and friends.

Having dated for more than seven years, it was only a matter of time before Stephy and Alex got married. The couple fell in love after filming 2006’s Marriage With a Fool <獨家試愛> and their romance became more open in recent years. The lovers are renting a villa in Beverly Hills, Tai Po as their love nest.

Eager to Make More Money

Since Stephy decided to develop her career in the mainland market, the couple has been maintaining a long distance relationship. Besides filming dramas, Stephy will also often hold concerts in night clubs to earn more money. Earlier, Stephy, accompanied by her assistant, went over to Shenzhen’s Nanjing 1949 for a concert. When Stephy arrived half an hour late, the bar was already packed with her fans with lighted placards to welcome her.

It was obvious Stephy was not comfortable performing in the seedy venue as the four songs she sang were all out of tune. When she left the place fifteen minutes later, many male fans were hungrily grabbing her hands and refused to let go. The bar, which only charged 100 RMB per entry, was not only filled with female hostesses, but also male ones too.

Stephy Denies Marriage Rumors

Making an appearance in Central yesterday, Stephy laughed and said that this was the fourth time in which she and Alex were reported to have held a secret wedding. Earlier rumored destination wedding locations included the Maldives, England, and Hong Kong. But Okinawa was not her preferred destination.

Stephy said, “If I were to get married, I would choose the Maldives, a faraway place with few people and possessing only sunshine and  beaches. This would be more romantic.”

Stephy set aside her earlier plans of hoping to get married in her thirties, as there are many things she hopes to accomplish before marriage. However, when the time comes, Stephy will be sure to share the good news with the public.
