[Style] Who Wore It Better? Wu Jinyan Edition
Although celebrities have a wide array of designers and endorsed outfits to choose from, it is inevitable that they will end up donning the same ensemble sometimes. However, the fitting, body shape, accessories, and poise all contribute to the flavor that the wearer brings out. Wu Jinyan (吴谨言), the focus of this edition of “Who Wore it Better”, has surprisingly clashed wardrobes with different celebrities more than a dozen times!
Wu Jinyan vs. Dilireba vs. Maggie Jiang
Wu Jinyan, Dilireba (迪丽热巴), and Maggie Jiang (江疏影) wore the same black embroidered D&G dress. While Wu Jinyan wore darker makeup and paired the outfit with boots to display a more punk rock style, Dilireba exuded a more womanly and commercial look. Maggie, on the other hand, paired the dress with a pair of dated open-toed, strappy heels.
Wu Jinyan vs. Dilireba
On a second occasion, Wu Jinyan and Dilireba wore an almost identical look. In addition to the nude body-fitting dress, they both also wore their hair down and accessorized with a pair of long dangly earrings with little other jewelry.
Wu Jinyan vs. Janine Chang
With Janine, Wu Jinyan also matched a second time when the duo wore the same floral-printed Ferragamo dress. While Wu Jinyan went for a more understated look with black heels and minimal accessories, Janine added to the already-colorful dress by wearing eye-catching red flats and a bright yellow purse.
Wu Jinyan vs. Gong Hyo-jin
Both Wu Jinyan and Korean actress Gong Hyo-jin wore a loose-fitting, Dior ankle-length white dress to an event on separate occasions. To accentuate their figures, both actresses paired a wide black belt with the dress.
Wu Jinyan vs. Krystal Jung
South Korean girl group, f(x), member, Krystal Jung, wore the same shirt dress paired with a black blazer as Wu Jinyan had for a commercial photoshoot. While the ensemble appeared too large for Krystal and made her look frumpy, Wu Jinyan looked sharp and commanded attention.
Wu Jinyan vs. Tiffany Tang
Wu Jinyang appeared dated when she paired this Chloe orange-brown dress with similar-colored heels. On the other hand, Tiffany Tang (唐嫣) looked much more chic and stylish wearing the same dress, but completed her ensemble with black ankle boots and a matching black purse.
On a second occasion, the two A-list actresses wore an over-sized white sweater with an outer red sweater-vest. Both actresses pulled off the ensemble well and exuded different auras. While Wu Jinyan appeared sporty and composed, Tiffany pulled off a more feminine look with long boots and a figure-accentuating black belt.
Wu Jinyan vs. Zanilia Zhao
Both Wu Jinyan and Zanilia Zhao (趙麗穎) appeared equally fresh-faced and youthful wearing the striped long-sleeved shirt and black skirt.
Wu Jinyan vs. Guan Xiaotong
While Guan Xiaotong (關曉彤) exuded feminine charm and sophisticated, Wu Jinyan, who wore her hair up, looked like a teenage ballerina in the nude-colored feather dress.
Wu Jinyan vs. Li Qin
Both Wu Jinyan and Li Qin (李沁) are currently 28 years old. Wu Jinyan paired the graphic t-shirt with a trendy leather jacket and black jeans. She oozed with a star’s charm and composure. Meanwhile, Li Qin wore a casual gray vest over the printed t-shirt and appeared relaxed and informal.
Wu Jinyan vs. Karlina Zhan
Wu Jinyan and Karlina Zhang (張佳寧) may be fashion twins, as they looked almost identical in a Ferragamo ensemble. In addition to the electric blue top and ankle-length skirt, they both accessorized with similar black strappy heels and black wrist watch.
Wu Jinyan vs. Qin Lan
The battle between the Story of Yanxi Palace <延禧攻略> actresses! Wu Jinyan looked young and girlish with her short-trimmed bangs. However, her thin frame did not carry out the olive-colored dress as well as Qin Lan (秦嵐) did. Though Wu Jinyan radiated with youthful charm, Qin Lan emitted an air of grace and elegance.
Wu Jinyan vs. Yang Mi
The yellow Bottega Veneta dress appeared over-sized and seemed to be sliding off both actresses’ thin figures and small frames.
Donning a similar over-sized white sweater, Wu Jinyan’s thin stature appeared even more evident, as the sweater is nearly sliding off her shoulders. The v-shaped neckline of the sweater brought more attention to her skeletal collarbones. In comparison, Yang Mi (楊冪) did not seem as overly thin as Wu Jinyan in the sweater.
Wu Jinyan vs Yang Chaoyue
Both actresses paired the sparkly-patterned black skirt with different colors. While Wu Jinyang color-coordinated her black top to match the black skirt, Yang Chaoyue (楊超越) went for a more color-clashing look and matched the black miniskirt with a contrasting white top.
Wu Jinyan vs Maggie Jiang
Though the two actresses both wore a fuzzy black and white striped sweater, Wu Jinyan showcased her bony thin legs by pairing it with a brown-colored mini-skirt and black combat boots. Maggie, on the other hand, looked casually put together in flared jeans and retro sunglasses.
Wu Jinyan vs. Sun Yi
Despite sporting different color tones to match with the Gucci lounge pants, both Wu Jinyan and Sun Yi (孫怡) aimed for the same type of casual and hippie look. Both wore a loose top and white tennis shoes.

everyone wears whatever dress better than her because she’s a twig and twig doesn’t look nice.
Such a hater.
It’s too obvious you’re jealous about her skinny.
There are other people skinnier than her, such as ZLY if you look at their comparisions ZLY waist is thinner than a paper.
Really unhealthy.
WJY is a person who controlled her own weight since a child, she control the amount to eat and choose what is healthy. Not by starving method. She exercise and dance often. So she is strong. She won’t fly away when the wind blows.
If she only starved herself to death then I might understand your criticisms but this is somebody who stay fit from using healthy techniques.
About clothes she didn’t look bad in any of the clothes. But some actresses obviously look better because of the different poses and angles. And they are taller look more mature.
@yoyo Uhm, yea, all ballet dancers are staying stick thin using health diets! Lol! She can control whatever she eats, and she might claim it’s a healthy way, but she still an anorexic or look like one! There are other actresses who are skinnier than her, doesn’t mean she isn’t a twig, or that she isn’t unhealthily skinny? Welcome to the industry where they all stay stick thin by using really bad diet for at least 60% of their career time!
And if we think she’s unhealthily skinny, and by saying that mean we are jealous, you have a problem 🙂
I have problem? 🙁 Be honest with your face. People body shaming others are the people who have problems. If you body shame a skinny person, who says you won’t body shame a fat person too? They all trying to look the skinniest because people having problems like yall force them to look your standard. Unreasonable criticisms stem from ignorance, otherwise, jealousy.
@yoyo I just laugh at the person who replied to your post. So much negativity and don’t even bother to hide it. It says a lot about the person herself lol
@yoyo lol, so typical internet users, if I have some negativity POV, I must be body shame everyone, fat or skinny >_> *rolled eyes. I like skinny people, not too skinny that showing bones. I just replied to your just as obvious bias comment when someone has a negative view point toward your idol. Also learn to actually reply to the right comment 🙂
You think other negative comment is either ignorance or jealous, I think your comment is naive 🙂 I don’t trust bone showing actress that they are healthy and have good diet.
@nicex Yup, because I’m not pretentious like somebody. And I lol at your comment, if anyone has anything negative to say, that person must be petty, dw, I lol at your comment too 🙂
Why is nobody complaning about wu jinyan’s pics looks better because they are studio’s pics??
Geez some people here are too biased but they don’t want to admit it.
I like Wu Jinyan and I think she looks not bad in all those outfits. Skinny or not, I respect her choice of diet as long as she’s healthy.
