Synopsis of TVB Legal Drama “Law dis-Order”

TVB’s latest legal drama Law dis-Order <律政強人> will be arriving on television screens on Monday, September 19. Produced by Marco Law (羅永賢), Law dis-Order brings back award-winning veteran actors Alex Fong (方中信) and Liu Kai-chi (廖啟智) in their first collaboration together at TVB.

Law dis-Order centers its story on two authority and money-hungry lawyers, and how their obsession for power pushes them further and further away from morality.

Synopsis

As the co-founder of the Chinese law firm Donald & Co., Charles Cheuk (Lau Dan 劉丹), has been a chairman of its committee for many years. Though he had promised his managing partner KC Lau (Liu Kai-chi) that he would step down, Charles hires the money-minded lawyer Kent Cheung (Alex Fong) as a new partner for the firm, hoping that he would be able to counterbalance KC’s growing obsession for authority.

KC had built up great influence in his years with Donald & Co. His associates include the abled lawyers Duncan Yam (Raymond Cho 曹永廉) and Martha Fong (Mandy Wong 黃智雯). With Patricia Lee (Florence Kwok 郭少芸) and Nick Chau (Matthew Ho 何廣沛) as Kent’s only strongsuits, KC assumed he had the upper edge in their game of power.

However, a traffic accident catches KC off guard, and Kent takes advantage of the situation. He gets himself a lucrative offer from Charles, who promotes Kent to senior partner. During this time, Kent re-encounters assistant solicitor Hazel Cheuk (Ali Lee 李佳芯), and they develop a close mentor-student friendship.

Feeling his power ebbing away, KC becomes a ticking time bomb, ready to explode at any moment. But while fighting for control, a toothless tiger comes out from under the radar, ready to seek revenge.

  1. This drama looks good. LKC is a very good actor, very versatile and multi-layered in his portrayals of different characters from the good guy to the villain. Glad to see he is being offered more meaty roles.

  2. Finally, something watchable from TVB!   Outside of Uncle Chi (Liu Kai Chi), I’m actually not too fond of this series’ cast to be honest (Alex Fong bores me to death and the female cast is quite weak), but I know Uncle Chi will deliver the goods like he always does and he’s actually  leading this series (stupid TVB giving him a lead role only now), so definitely going to watch, even if it’s purely because of him.  Hopefully I end up ‘pleasantly surprised’ by the series.

  3. Yesss I agree with everyone’s sentiments – Liu Kai Chi – yaaaas. Alex Fong – nooooo. Ali Lee – good expectations. Florence and Mandy Wong – yaaas. Looks like a star-studded production. Can’t wait!

  4. Having seen the first episode
i have to say i was really impressed
Liu Kai Chi looks every bit a villain and Alex Fong plays his part as his opponent pretty well.

Ali lee is of course just as pretty and her acting sure has improved a lot.

While its true Mandy could have been in a main role she already had plenty of dramas this year so a rotation is actually necessary so as to allow other actresses their chances

  5. Just finished 1st ep. Love the male leads. But not sure about female leads especially Ali Lee. Her look somehow doesn’t fit the lawyer character, not strong enough and she looks flirtatious with that eyes which I don’t like, but love to see Florence Kwok back. Hates the fact that when you’re into a series and have to watch 1 ep a day and have to wait til the next day when it excitement can’t wait

  6. Ali Lee has really improve her acting skills. Still Fashion war she was her best.

Maybe the a award for best supporting actres?

The Giselle (sister fromTavia Yeung) also playing in this drama. The fithlineactresses?

LKC and Alex Fong Chun Sun. Great rivals play!!!
