Taiwanese Celebrities Donate Money to Wuhan
People around the world are sitting on the edge of their seats as the coronavirus outbreak continues to spread, and the number of confirmed cases around the world rises in numbers. With the World Health Organization declaring the virus as a global emergency, many funds and supplies have poured in from all walks of life. Among them, Taiwanese artists are doing what they can to help.
According to the latest donation announcement by the Wuhan Benevolent General Association on January 28, Taiwan-based recording company B’In Music made a generous donation of 5 million RMB. Taiwanese band Mayday (五月天), which is signed to B’In Music, is also enthusiastic about public welfare.
Over the years, Mayday repeatedly made low-key charity donations. In 2014, they helped the 2014 Kaohsiung gas explosions with a donation, and in 2019, they also donated 3 million RMB to the China Children and Teenagers Fund.
Following B’In Music’s footsteps are Jay Chou (周杰倫) and his wife, Hannah Quinlivan (昆凌). The couple also lent a helping hand by donating 3 million RMB to the Hubei Charity General Association to assist frontline anti-epidemic personnel. Needless to say, their actions garnered praise from netizens.
Kevin Lin (林瑞阳), Zhang Tang (张庭), Barbara Hsu (大S) and other Taiwanese artists also donated money and face masks to help out.
