Tang Wei and Wu Xiubo Film Sequel to “Finding Mr. Right”

The sequel to 2013’s romantic comedy film, Finding Mr. Right <北京遇上西雅圖>, is currently in production in Macau, starring the original cast of Tang Wei (湯唯) and Wu Xiubo (吳秀波). Following the box office success of the first film, director Xue Xiaolu (薛曉路) hopes to create another memorable film centering on an exotic love story around the world.

The cast earlier filmed a romantic scene in which Tang Wei stood on a balcony leaning against the windows, while a dressed up Wu Xiubo stood at a stairway watching her. A beautiful view of Macau served as the backdrop and added to the loving atmosphere.

When asked if there is pressure in filming the sequel since the first film was a big box office hit, Wu Xiubo laughed and expressed, “I just follow the director’s orders. I do whatever she asks, so there’s no pressure!” He also denied speculations that a new generation of actors is affecting his career. Wu Xiubo jokingly exclaimed, “I hope more fresh faces show up, because then I’d get cast in all the mature uncle roles!”

Now a married woman, Tang Wei was asked if her attitude during filming has changed. She replied, “It’s the same as before. I’m still working hard and studying the script, communicating with the director and other actors, and trying to portray my character naturally. The changes in real life will not affect my work.” Dressed in a black and red uniform, Tang Wei added that she cannot the film plot at the moment.
