Tavia Yeung and Nancy Wu “Face Off” in Acting Show
With rumors of discord for many years, 45-year-old Tavia Yeung (楊茜堯) was said to have snubbed 43-year-old Nancy Wu (胡定欣) at 2010’s TVB Awards Ceremony in an infamous scene. Recently, Tavia and Nancy were invited on mainland Chinese acting variety show <藝員新訓2025> where they delivered a short skit together. The storyline touches on how Nancy’s first-time Best Actress nomination ruffles the feathers of the more senior Tavia Yeung in a classic remake of the two actresses’ infamous scene back in 2010. Tavia was praised for her fearsome and bone-chilling glance, while netizens suggested that TVB arrange for the pair to face off in an actual series so further sparks could fly!
Tavia explained that Kate had told her at that time about feeling cold, which was why she did a small movement with her elbows that was later misunderstood. She blamed herself for not managing her facial expressions well which led to the widespread speculation of discord later, as Nancy and herself both did not bother to clear up the air.
Sharing clips of their skit performance, netizens captioned “Indeed Best Actresses!” and praised the two TV Queens for their layered acting despite it being a spontaneous performance.
Tavia, dressed in a power suit like her character in Darkside of the Moon <黑色月光>, pretended not to hear when Nancy, in a black dress, happily walked to the former and told her “I’m really happy to be nominated for Best Actress along with you,”
When Tavia showed no reaction, Nancy then praised her for being down-to-earth, noting that she didn’t bring an assistant along. At that moment, Tavia dabbed her face with a tissue to blot oil, then looked at Nancy and said, “I heard you’re the one who got nominated for Best Actress on your first-ever acting nomination…”
Nancy introduced herself, while Tavia smirked and said, “Wow, aren’t you impressive! Looks like you’re not just skilled in acting but also in other areas, huh! Ha!’ Nancy then turned around to grab a bottle of water for Tavia, after which, the two actresses laughed and hugged each other.
