Tavia Yeung Attends First Promo Event in 3 Years

Busily raising her two children, Tavia Yeung (楊茜堯) has slowed down her work schedule significantly. The last time she was at a promotional event was three years ago. The night before a recent brand event, Tavia was nervous and was unable to sleep.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been in public. I don’t know what to say. What name should they call me?” Tavia realized changing her Chinese stage name had caused some public confusion and is “fine with whichever name you call me by.”

In the first three years of the pandemic, Tavia decided to prioritize her family first. “The pandemic was too severe at the time. I was scared of coming in contact with so many people because my children were so young.” Teased over the amount of money she lost, Tavia said she only focused on how much she has earned.

She shared that she is currently in discussions to film a new drama, “If all goes well, I will likely return to filming dramas. I really like filming dramas and hope to keep my passion for work. I also want to earn more money!”

Although Tavia’s last drama Modern Family <家族榮耀> was a big hit, she is not part of the cast in the spin off series Modern Family 2 <家族榮耀之繼承者>. Tavia clarified she was not replaced, but rather the storyline is completely different from the first series. She is not bothered by the lost opportunity to work with her husband Him Law (羅仲謙). “It’s a little strange to work together as a couple. There are pros and cons. If the opportunity is attractive, we’ll definitely accept. If we’re acting in opposing roles that leads to more arguments.”

While Him frequently travels to China for work, he found time to celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary. The couple went out for dinner and then went to watch a horror movie, a genre they both love.
