Tavia Yeung Hopes to Find Balance Between Work and Family
After slowing down her onscreen performances to care for her growing family, Tavia Yeung (楊茜堯) is marking her return in TVB drama, Darkside of the Moon <黑色月光>. Portraying the drama’s anti-hero, Tavia will be starring alongside Vincent Wong (王浩信), Priscilla Wong (黄翠如), Rosina Lam (林夏薇), and will also have the opportunity to work with her sister, Griselda Yeung (楊卓娜).
Attending a celebratory banquet to mark the completion of filming, Tavia shared, “To be honest, I was a little sad when we concluded filming. Since I was able to film the drama in a completely relaxed mindset, it was a very joyous time. Normally when I am taking care of my children, I am fully focused. When I am home, I don’t put on any makeup or even bother to color over my overgrowth of white hair. However, when I returned to work, I focused on taking care of myself to present my best side to the audience and my work.”
Despite a pleasant and enjoyable filming process, Tavia expressed guilt towards her children. As she was filming in China, she was separated from her family for some time. “Although I feel happy after returning to work and doing what I love, I have to take a break. I am worried my children will not remember me. I was in China for two months to film Darkside of the Moon. When I returned home, my older daughter asked why I haven’t been home and whether I’m leaving again…. She even said she doesn’t want me to leave and told me to tell Him Law (罗子溢) to leave in my place instead. After I heard that, I felt very guilty. Children grow up very fast, so I must find a balance between work and my family.”
