“The Invisibles” May Have a Sequel
The cast of The Invisibles <隱形戰隊> gathered at TVB City earlier to celebrate its success as the highest-rated drama of 2023 to-date. The finale received ratings of 28.7 points which is equivalent to 1.84 million viewers, while the entire drama averaged 25.5 points.
Given the success of the drama, many are wondering if there will be a sequel. Producer Jazz Boon (文偉鴻) shared that he is not a fan of filming sequels, but would still consider the idea as audiences embrace it. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves–the most important thing is to have a good script first.”
As Joel Chan (陳山聰) is almost done filming Death Notice <奪命提示>, he looks forward to a sequel and believes that Natalie Tong (唐詩詠) would love to return despite leaving TVB earlier. Joel’s dream is to work with Chow Yun Fat (周潤發) in a film version, while Kenneth Ma (馬國明) added that he hopes that TVB can invite Tony Leung (梁朝偉) and Sean Lau (劉青雲) so he can learn from them.
Asked if he will be too busy planning for his wedding, Kenneth said the celebration only takes several days. He would be happy if his fiancée Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯) can also join the sequel.
Asked how he is currently addressing his in-laws, Kenneth said he still calls Roxanne’s father as “Uncle” as he “afraid to call him anything else” because he is worried they would not like it. Joel joked that the betrothal money has not been fully paid yet, so Kenneth should not refer to them as in-laws yet.

I wish TVB would stop making these sequels every time a show does somewhat well. Jazz Boon’s dramas feel repetitive and formulaic to me.
A direct sequel would be nice…At least Boon tries something, this series was one of his better ones, along with the fist one.
